I shot one today, and wanted to know what y'all thought about them. I only got to put 2 or 3 mags through it, so I really didn't get a good picture of it.
1870s or 80s St. Etienne SxS 16 bore underlever hammer shotgun on a LeFacheaux(sp?) action, with re-blued Damascus barrels. It's on face and the locks are in good condition. I got it for a song because the stock is cracked at the wrist and the previously mentioned re-blueing. It is a gorgeous peice.
not to point out the obvious, but that argument fails when you get to different types of guns in the same caliber. A 1911 and and AR with a .45 upper do very different things.
I pretty much take it for granted that everyone here is pro-RKBA. Beyond that, however, it seems all bets are off politically. As far as what I said about civility, I meant that there are less personal attacks and insults thrown around here than in other forums.
I don't mean any insult by this, but I think that LEO's have to deal with so much rabidly anti LEO crap on a daily basis, from songs about shooting them to biased stories in the news to bad attitudes from the people that they actually deal with, that they mistake a lot of forum members...
I love the stuff, its like drinking a campfire. I've given some to friends and their reactions were less than positive. Rumor has it that it was allowed to be imported during prohibition for medicinal use because no one could fathom how it could be drunk for pleasure.
Islay's not for everyone. Laphroaig is for the masochistic few. With that said, I just finished a bottle of Bowmore 17 and liked it a lot. I also really like the Campbeltown region. Springbank 10 is awesome.
