I shot a 686 Smith in NRA action pistol for 10 years. All double action. Some of the shots were at 50 yards. Those revolvers were made to be shot double in that game.
I must be the unlucky one here. I’ve had four 1911 9 MM. Three Springfield and one Kimber. Not one was able to feed and eject reliably. I will never buy a 1911 of any kind that isn’t a 45.
I am sorry to hear you have problems with your 92X. About a year ago I purchased a Beretta 92X compact. It turned out to be one of my favorite home defense pistols and range gun. It has never missed a beat even with my reloads. It’s accurate and a beautiful pistol.
No red dots, no lasers. Just regular black on black or night sights. When I was shooting NRA action pistol I had a red dot sight mounted on a Smith 686. That is about the limit for me. For self defense just regular sights or night sights. Just as I right this now I’m thinking that the Sig P365...
You are right, the Beretta 92X Compact is heavy. But that is the only derogatory mark I can find with the piece. Quite some time ago I purchased one (decocker only) on a whim. The trigger was great and accuracy was fantastic. This pistol is so slick and easy to operate and a big plus it’s so...
i purchased a Tisas Tanker (commander style steel frame) and I have only put 100 rounds down the tube. Had a problem with trigger reset on the very first 3 rounds, but after that it was flawless. The fit, finish and the inside of the slide looks like a more expensive gun.
Years ago, while fishing a farm pond, I had with me a 45 cal. Colt cap and ball copy. I loaded it up and hit a coke can that was on the bank on the other side of the pond. 75 yards away. The Coke can jumped 6 feet in the air. I handed the piece to my fishing partner and said “your shot”.
I used a red dot on a 6” barrel 686 for NRA action pistol. For that game and for me it was better and faster than open sights. But I could never rap my head around an optic on a carry piece. Just an old fart I guess. Plus’s I pocket a J frame half the time.
OK, I am Confused. The Ronin EMP, is it like the original EMP with non standard 1911 parts? Will it use regular 9MM 1911 mags or does it use mags for the original EMP? Inquiring minds would like to know.
Not a thing wrong with a J frame. They are dependable and easy to operate. My friends and I (in our earlier days) have cleared the plate rack at 25 yards with a J frame. And besides, in your home you are not looking at 25 yards. I love revolvers and shot NRA action pistol for over ten years with...
I like Wilson mags. That’s all I shoot in my 1911 45’s. Can’t say much about the groups you are getting with your Charter arms. I once had an old one that wasn’t to bad. The CZ75B is a very nice pistol. Have some one (known to be a good shot) shot your CZ and see if he gets the same results. I...
