    How to value reloading equipment.

6K primers and 40# of unopened powder will bring well over your estimate. 20# of unopened powder at just $20 per lb is $400. I wish you the best in your decision. chris

    How to value reloading equipment.

I guess my thought process is a bit different than some. If the OP wants to quit reloading, and doesn't think he'll want to start up again in the future, then he should get rid of his equipment. But if he enjoys reloading, and is thinking of getting rid of his stuff due to a few bad rounds...

    How to value reloading equipment.

I'm in the camp of "hang on to it awhile". You may change your mind in a month or two, and wish you hadn't sold it. And replacement cost will certainly be more than you get for your current equipment. So rather than selling it, sit on it and re-evaluate your current loading procedure to...

About as good as i can do i think

I think a lot of people overlook this question, when really it should be the first or one of the first ones asked. chris

What the hell just happened with my Lee Drum?!

You could always try to replicate your spill, an experiment if you will. Just don't put in as much powder and have a pan underneath to catch the powder in case you can duplicate it. This might give you the answer as to how it happened. chris

    Big deception with S&B lpp

Did you contact CCI, and if so, what was the result? They would want to know if they have a bad batch of primers. chris

    Case cleaning/polishing

Cut up a used dryer sheet and throw it in your media. It will catch a lot of the dust and I would think it would eliminate any static as well. I still don't think static is an issue. And your ammo sure looks nice! chris

    Case cleaning/polishing

Problem is you'll get wet clumps of liquid wax/polish mixed with your corn/walnut media inside the cases, and the primer pockets if you de-prime before tumbling. It's a big mess to try cleaning that stuff out of your brass. I don't think static would be an issue at all. chris

    Case cleaning/polishing

Also, put it in the tumbler and run it for 15~30 minutes to mix it up before adding any brass, and break up any clumps as well. Don't add any liquid wax/polish and then put the brass in straight away. You'll wish you hadn't. chris

    Lubricant for carbide dies?

With steel dies, I lube the first few, maybe five. Then about every third to fifth case after. For carbide dies on straightwall cartridges I lube every thing with One Shot. I've done my own testing of lubed vs. unlubed and although it may not be necessary it makes a big difference in ease of...

    Hornady Unique case lube

I use the Hornady Unique for my bottleneck rifle loads, and don't clean it off afterward. Haven't had a problem yet, about 1K rounds. I lube the outside of each of the first four or five cases, and then lube about every third to fifth case after that. I put a small bit of lube inside the neck...

    IMR4350 availability in todays market

I was in PA over the Easter weekend, near the Ohio border. Made a quick run to Fin, Feather and Fur, and was surprised by the powder prices. Some seemed pretty high, but some seemed pretty low for today's market. I did see a 4# bottle of Nitro 100NF for $130ish which surprised me quite a bit...

Any Issues Ever Discovered with Small Pistol Primers in .45acp?

I recently did my own LPP vs. SPP test, and I ran into the same cycling issues with a light target load. I haven't tested it yet, but I assume if I go up a tenth or two on my charge my cycling issues would clear up. I don't have a chronograph, so no numbers to post, but I didn't see any change...

Maybe spread it out on a pan and put it in the oven? Wait 'till she's out of the house, she won't know! 🤣 chris

    What am I doing wrong?

I have a Kimber Ultra in 45acp, and I crimp at .468" or .4685". If I crimp at .469" they may or may not chamber. Most of what I shoot in 45acp is 185gr swc's. My Ultra is very accurate with them. 230gr fmj, not so much. What OAL are you using for the swc's? chris

    TRIMMING 9MM BRASS???

I haven't measured any 9mm, but I have (out of curiosity) measured 38spcl, 357mag, 45Colt, 45acp, and 480Ruger. Very few of the cases I measured were at max length, most were closer to min length, and some were below spec. All the cases I measured were new Starline, but I would think any...

    Let’s talk die maintenance

I use a Q-tip or pipe cleaner on mine every so often, maybe 50 rounds or maybe several hundred rounds, just depends. The brass starts leaving shavings, or I get a bit of lead or powder coating and I know it's time for a quick cleaning. Once in awhile I'll spray some One-Shot in a die to give...

Is your measure gritty with H110?

Like Kaldor I haven't had any issues or grittiness in my Hornady. Haven't used H-110 in my Lyman, but it throws stick powders just fine, so I wouldn't expect issues with a ball powder. chris

    Hornady case prep trio parts?

One of the gears broke on mine, so I called to order a set. They wouldn't take my money, just sent a replacement set of three. The gears arrived already on the shafts, so replacement was pretty straight forward. It seems they had a bad bunch of gears, and would replace them under warranty...
