I put together a 300 Blackout carbine with an18 inch barrel. I can only find 110 gr and 220 gr target ammo. I was thinking of loading some 150 gr or 160 gr interlocks. Has anyone had any experience with loading up hunting ammo for this round?
I never was sold on 223/5.56 ammo in an AR. a friend talked to me about his 300 black out. Only need to change the upper he said. Well, I went and ordered one with a 16-inch barrel and 1/8 twist.
I don't use a suppressor. What would be a good all-around bullet weight? Any suggestions?
Just...
I am having trouble finding the normal lead bullets that I use for my .38 and .45 Colt. I am on the fence about using plated bullets. Is there a special way to load them? Those that have used them what is your opinion? Do you use different loading data?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
I am thinking about doing a hog hunt next year in Texas. What caliber rifles work best? Some outfiters do night hunts, do I need night vision stuff? Never done a hog hunt but it has been on my list.
I got my 300wm sighted in for 300 yards. I am going to be hunting a more open area this year for elk so I will be going to the 600 yard range. Never had to trail an animal I have shot with it.
i guess I am a MAN ! LOL
I have a MG in .44 mag. It has become my field gun. It doesn't matter what the weather is it can't be hurt. I can load it up or down. Shot some Buffalo Bore hard cast in it man are the hot!
I am thinking about using my AR in 223 for coyotes. How heavy of a bullet can I use in a Bushmaster that will be effective? The only bullets I have shot in it are .55 gr on targets.
Thanks in advance.
While on a training exercise at Camp Lejeune I spent the night in a fox hole with pouring rain all night. (I will never sleep in a pool again.). When I had to fire my M1 at the enemy the rifle would not eject. The stock had swollen from being in that much water. Dropping back behind my fire...
Buffalo Bore has the fastest turn around. I wound up getting the 255 gr hard cast after changing my order. Ammo was here in 3 days. They are some wicked looking bullets. Not expecting any problems. If nothing else they will come in handy on my elk hunt.
Thanks for the input. I ordered the Keith hard cast 158 gr low recoil. I hope I did not make a mistake. I felt the lighter recoil would give a better chance at a repeat shot. At 80 years I don't handle recoil very well. I might order the monolithic bullet also. Don't know how they would recoil...
