    Walnut and new finish about 4 hours depending on how dirty the brass is.

    Powder prices? Seriously?????

    Between 2 local gun shops there's plenty of powder including varget. Primers are in stock as well. Hodgdon/iMR/Winchester powder is $25-$30 a pound. Primers LR $40 SRP $50 per 1000.

    Tree Stands from Yesteryear Picture Thread

    I did the wood stands about fell out of a rotten one so switched to better materials. Started welding conduit ladder stands and we had Werner ladder co here so got some scrap fiberglass ladders and made a couple out of them.

    How close to opening day would you sight in?

    Thanksgiving day is the family tradition to sight in, although it's just my wife and I now. Season begins Saturday and the first time ever we can hunt on Sunday.

    When Did 870 Express Quality Go Down?

    I was going to buy one around 2006 and remember seeing some had rust spots on the barrels new in the box. They must have missed some spots with the finish. I got a 20ga youth and have no problems with rust.

    Does anyone here have tips for a new dove hunter?

    Go get permission at a farm with cornfields and tree lines, ask the farmer if he needs any help to show appreciation. Also find an area with pine trees they roost in them during the night. All you need is a gun and lots shells shells and a bag to keep the birds in.

    SHARE YOUR HAND LOADING MISTAKES

    Did the forgot the primer thing. I first started I over lubed the inside of the neck and flooded the primers. Working up a load I forgot to adjust the scale so had all the same charge. Forgot to change powder from the hopper had an overload which blew the case head off and locked up the rifle.
