Dimensions are 24" total with 8.5" barrel. So it sounds like it is a pistol for sure to me not a short barrel rifle. I think that has to be 26". Is that correct?
I was just told that if you hold an AR pistol to your shoulder it is illegal. If you hold it to your cheek only it's not. I'm about to call BS. Is what he told me correct?
Currently I usually practice at 10 yards with good results. 15 yards is difficult and 20 I'm lucky keep it on a 12" target. I use a full size 45 and a M&P Shield 9mm. Results are about the same. 8 months experience.
Section 18.2-308.1 that talks about if you have a concealed carry permit that it's ok if you are in the car. It doesn't say more than that.

Unfortunately I am in Virginia. I've been getting news that several counties have gone 2A sanctuary. I don't fully understand other than it's a good thing. Does anyone have more info.
I heard something about a 7 yard rule before. Does this mean we are expected to get out the measuring tape before we can protect ourselves? Trying to be sarcastic, but does anyone have knowledge of this so called 7 yard rule?

It's a 4 hour class. I expect it to be very thorough.
