I have the 12" LOP Hogue overmolded stock on my SBS. It's quite comfortable as far as length of pull goes - but, I tend to punch myself in the nose with my thumb. I've got a cheapo gel-filled slip-on recoil pad on top of it now, extends the LOP to about 12.75", which is perfect for me.
I have one on my P365XL and I rather like it. I was able to make very good hits at 10 yards:
If there is any ambient light at all, the dot is visible, albeit dim. In total darkness of course it does not appear, but then again if there's total darkness it would be problematic to identify a...
If you're going to keep it in out-of-the-box condition, the Maverick 88 is the better buy. If you intend to upgrade the fore end or add an optic, get the 590.
Any of them would serve, but my preference would be for the 66. I gifted one to my brother to get him into pistol shooting. He loves it. Accurate and reliable.
A fine choice! P365 was my first carry pistol when I got into firearms a few years back. It's definitely set the bar for concealed carry. Enjoy your Sig!
Mine’s been reliable through several thousand rounds. I wish I had bought an upgraded version from MCarbo from the onset as I’ve spent more doing similar mods piecemeal, but hey, live and learn.
I get less keyholing and more accuracy with the .22WMR than with the .22LR through my 4.75” and 6.5” Rough Riders. I’ve found that screws to back out more often with a steady diet of WMR, but that’s easily fixed with a little blue Loctite.
^This. I had a similar problem trying to fit reloaded 38s into a S&W 686-1. The factory rounds had been fired in a Taurus 66 and reloaded once. They'd go into the Taurus but not into the Smith. I got a Lee FCD and the problem miraculously went away.
You can take the P365XL slide assembly off of your XL and put any other P365 slide assembly back on with no fitting, no additional parts, and no other modifications. Most of the replies in this thread cover swapping the polymer grip module, which involves removing the retaining pin before...
Another vote for the Maverick 88. I have the 20” Security model with 7+1 capacity (2 3/4” shells). Reliable and accurate, you can still get these brand new for about $250.
I have a micro red dot on my EDC (P365 with RomeoZero). In my opinion, red dots are the next evolution for sighting systems. When I present, the red dot is right there in the middle of the lens. My eyes aren't what they used to be and that bright little dot is fast and easy for me to pick up...
For a .22LR or an air rifle, you can get a budget laser and it should work just fine. Pinty makes some inexpensive ones, less than $20 on Amazon. I have this one on my KelTec Sub2000 and it has no problem with 9mm recoil...
