Midwestreloads.com is a scam site. I went there because they had percussion caps that no one else seems to have in stock. They only take Paypal, Zelle, or Cashapp for payment. I looked them up and sure enough SCAM. Luckily I didn't fall for it.

I see no "physical" problem in these loaded cartridges, the crimping and shorter case is not going to make much a difference in the safety of them.
HOWEVER its what you cant see that can hurt you. You dont know who loaded them and how much or what powder theyre loaded with. Its easy to...
Just a thought but could someone have chambered the wrong caliber round in it years ago and got it stuck. Its a 222 so a 223 or a 222 magnum should not chamber since the shoulders are further forward, BUT could someone have forced one in? Also someone may have chambered something wrong that...
I've thrown a few 22s into the campfire and then got away from it. The 22 shells would fly and whistle through the air and the bullet would stay there.
Just semi retired, work 2-3 days a week. Shooting more and reloading more. Partly because I've moved back to my hometown where I've had a home for many years, its rural and I can shoot at a gravel pit just 6 miles from the house. Also have built 2 new rifles in my spare time.
I really dont know as I havent really found out when the Z3 line hit the market. I do know that the Z3 is the lower lineup in the Swaro but I have heard that the glass is the same on all of them.
I've acquired a couple of older Swarovski Z3 scopes manufactured in the 90's. So I was wondering if the quality of these would be the same quality of current mfg scopes?
I think its pretty simple...............
An exit wound
1. Will cause more trauma than a shot without an exit wound..= Quicker death for the animal, wont go as far.
2. Will cause more or better chance at a better blood trail. = Better chance to find the animal, especially in dense cover.
7mm08. Ive taken deer, elk, bear, antelope and coyotes with a 1948 Rem 722 I rebarreled in 1989. Last year got myself a new Barrett Fieldcraft in 708 and have a 3rd one in the works on a Rem Model 7 action. Why so many you may ask? For grandkids and daughterinlaw after I try them out for a...
There was one at Springerville AZ at the American Legion over Memorial Day weekend that I usually go to. Thats about a 25 mile trip but I passed it up as a dose of the virus is not worth it at 65 yrs old. Besides I have several guns in my safe I havent shot for years.
My favorite rifle is a Winchester pump 62A that my dad gave my mom in 1949. One of my boys will get that, not sure how I’ll decide which one.
Favorite tack driver 22 is my Ruger 77/22 with Leupold 4X.
Favorite pistol is my Colt Woodsman
Ive been thinking about this also. Im 65 and in good health but have several guns that I just dont take out to shoot anymore. Ive decided sometime soon I will get both of my sons together give about half of them away keeping the few that I want for protection and hunting. I also have guns...
It was the one shown in this pic that reminded me of it. It was my stepgrandfathers and It dissappeared for years, then my Mom found in behind the headboard of her bed 20 yrs after my dad had passed away. She took it to a gunsmith friend of hers and he cleaned it up and gave it to me. It still...
I've had first hand experience with the following and I'd rate them as follows:
1. Winchester 94/22
2. Marlin 39
3. Mossberg (not sure what model but it was old 50s or 60s)
unfortunately you would have to but used as these classics are things of the past
I just picked up a used older Ruger 77/22 and was wanting to hear from others that have this gun what they think of it, what modifications have you done, or any other info you may have about it.
Thanks
I grew up in a shooting family but not hunting. My dad was a WW11 vet and medic and would take us shooting both pistol and rifle but he would never kill anything after he came back from the South Pacific after the war. I know he hunted before the war because Ive seen pics of him and my uncles...
That is a great happy and sad story. My brother backed over one of his dogs but it managed to survive, he was still heartbroken. I die just a little when one of my dogs goes, but always get another.
