Instructor classes in my area are few and far between. I understand that I can go and take the class wherever it is offered, but the closest I have found was a 12 hour drive...
It has been my undrestanding that the reason one contacts the NRA for a list of instructors who teach instructor...
Good luck hearing back from the NRA. I have contacted them 3 times in the past 4 months to get information on an instructor in my area so that I could become an instructor and have yet to hear anything from them...
A little late on this one, but the only other recommendation that I would add is to let someone know where you will be (I know, not always the easist when bird hunting) and when you will be back. And take a cell phone in case you do need help.
With some of the problems I have been reading about holsters, I don't think it is unbelievable that there was some sort of problem with the holster. Although most of the problems come when holstering, there are others that have issues when drawing an exopsed hammer gun from certain holsters...
I just got done building an AR - haven't fired it yet as the weather turned very cold and windy. Hopefully this weekend...
I put a model 1 complete upper on a DPMS lower. The lower was complete unassembled. There really wasn't much to putting it all together except for putzing with those...
A guy in our hunting group who has been asked not to come out with us this year shot at 6 deer and took 2. He never took anything less than 3 shots per deer. He says most of the first shots were taken within 30 yards. The last one he bagged was just wasted. He gut shot it and it started...
Congratulations on your first buck. After 9 years of hnting, I also took my first buck this year. Not nearly as nice as yours, but for what we generally see on this land, he was not bad.
Feels pretty good doesn't it!!!!!
Because I cannot function without my prescription glasses, the only safety glasses that I have been able to wear are the bulky ones that fit over my glasses. I hate the minor distortion that they give and therefore have not worn safety glasses for hunting - only for competition shoots...
I shoot 3-gun matches and have become quite fond of this mag holder for my AR:

I start out with one in hand, and two in the mag pouch. Not very often that I even get to the third mag, but I know it's there and it' easy for me to grab...
I probably get "that feeling" a bit too often. Trained by the kids who would show up at the wrong house for the party, the ones who decided it would be fun to climb my fence into my backyard, or just hang out on my porch drinking. Then add to that all the drug busts and family disputes that...

Even Mark Green, who is running for Govenor and supports concealed carry for our citizens, agrees that guns...
saands - I just reread my post and I see where I typed "wrong"...
Yes - it would be poaching - BUT wouldn't the range have to prove that you intentionally took the game? (that's where i messed up the original post) I know it doesn't happen often, but I have seen birds fly onto the trap...
We just had a discussion about this in a hunter ed class with the DNR Warden here in Wisconsin.
The brown patches on the "white" deer often come during the rut as a result of the hormones.
It is only considered albino if the eyes are pink.
Do you want to take the chance...
