Your 6.8 loads in a Special case should be in the low 900s.

Barbaroja....just loaded up the last of my 200s and 220s with 9.0 grains of Unique...they clocked 1080 from a 4" barrel. I believe in the Speer #14 Manual on the .41 page there is a cougar that was taken with a 200 HP from a 4" Taurus Tracker. Those HPs don't expand at all...the nose melts off...

    .41 Mag Association

Found a couple of boxes of the original POLICE loads at a gun show about 10 years ago...one was Winchester and the other Remington, both 210 LSWC bullets. From a 4" M58 the Remington clocked 940 and the Winchester 960 fps. 8.0 grains of Unique and a Berry's 210 plated bullet runs 950 fps. I've...

    New Ruger Redhawk 44s

Have also enjoyed Redhawks since the 1980s... First was a 7.5" .44 Magnum Hunter that I took one deer with. The 180 grain Sierra JHC was running in the 1600s with 30.0 grains of H110... Next in the late 1990s had a 5.5" stainless .41 Magnum...a nice gun but just could not find a set of grips...

Nice deer guys... Hunted several days in Pennsylvania this season with a 10" TC G2 and a 7.5" Ruger SBH Hunter... Only shot that presented itself was a large doe at about 10 yards... She had two little ones with her however and she got a pass... Had another one come in directly behind me...

I don't know...to me a heavy load in a fairly light/short handgun hurts regardless of the powder... My .41 loads generally are either with Unique (6.5-10 grains) or for top-end H110. Rarely shoot H110 loads in anything but longer barrel (5.5-10") revolvers, TC single shots or carbines. .41...

NICE shooting Charlie!! 8.5 of Unique should run about 1020 fps...9.0 is 1100 from my 4" Smiths...10.0 1180. My all time favorite load is 8.0 as it duplicates the original POLICE LOAD at 950 fps. I put some yellow or light green paint on the front blade...old eyes need it... Bob

If you want a great SD bullet, get the Barnes all copper HPs or most any of the companies who load that bullet. I carry the Federal rendition and it runs in the 1300s with much less recoil than the 210s...

Yea you gotta wonder... One of the guys over on the S&W shot about a dozen deer while he was stationed there...all DRT and all pass through shots with the standard 210 Remington SP. Another friend has used nothing but the 230 Keith running it between 950 and 1100 fps and has cleanly killed...

Bush Pilot....standing at the right place at the right time...that is great... Bangswitch...smokin' load... A friend used 22.0 of H110 with the Berry's bullet and shot down into a 55 gallon drum of water...the bullets went through the bottom of the drum...

Nice...what load are you running with the Berry's... For my Smiths just 8.0 grains of Unique which duplicates the original 210 LSWC POLICE load of 950 fps...really accurate and easy to shoot.

Best Sporting, Target Shooting and Possible Self Defense Handgun: Episode2 S&W Mountain Gun 45 Colt

Mr. Mosin...both .45 ACP/Super and .45 Auto Rim can be loaded singly if needed. With the ACP and Super cases one would just pull them out one at a time... As to the Mountain Gun...it has a tapered barrel vs. the 1989 which has a full underlug...much better balance to me...

Best Sporting, Target Shooting and Possible Self Defense Handgun: Episode2 S&W Mountain Gun 45 Colt

The Mountain Gun Series from S&W has to be the best thing they ever came up with for an "all-around" handgun. Balance is perfect, the round butt frame can be made to fit all sizes of hands... My favorite is the .41 Magnum but to me the the best all-around caliber for the series is the .45 ACP...

    L Frame 41 Mag?

..you might want to try a better set of grips and start out with some of the 950 fps POLICE loads that HSM now markets as their Cowboy Load... Reed's Ammo also has .41 Special ammo available... As to the .401 PowerMag and no heavy bullets available for a .401/10mm...this was a great article...

Very NICE!!! A 210 grain bullet at 950 fps duplicates the original POLICE load and is very pleasant to shoot... 8.0 grains of Unique is right there if you reload... It also shoots POA in the 58s I have shot.
