After 2 years of trying to find a training class that lines up with my schedule (heavy international business travel and 3 kids in lots of sports and activities tend to fill up nearly every weeknight and weekends), I finally found a class I can take.
I just found out there is a MAG-20R class...
Take a listen to my audio podcast review of the XCR. As always, I welcome any feedback on how to make a better review. My thanks to Mark Vanderberg for hosting this site on the Gun Rights Radio Network.

Sometimes I think the good Lord puts me in situations hoping that I'll recognize what is important in life and to stop being so caught up in my own day-to-day trials.
So I had an awful time getting home from a business trip to Europe last week. Multiple cancelled flights, Heathrow, Milan...
After 2 whirlwind weeks in Brazil and Italy, being snowed-in at the Milan and then Frankfurt airports for a few days, and Lufthansa losing my luggage (they still have no clue where it is), I finally picked up my presents to myself last night.

I went to the Midwest Memorial Bunny Hunt and Battle Rattle (MMBH&BR) this weekend. *Every year around Veteran's Day, a bunch of guys who fought in Gulf War I get together and hunt pheasants in the morning and shoot mil style weapons in the afternoon. *There might also be an adult beverage and a...
When I received the CMP newsletter about a month ago and saw that they had a few hundred Service Grade Winchester Garands available, I sent in my order the next day. *While I have 3 Garands, they are all Springfield Armory manufacture and I wanted some diversity.
The newsletter said it would...
Have been waiting to find the time to get the crank installed. *Finally got it in a coupla weeks ago but I couldn't get the beast to run correctly. *After some filing and shaving, then a lesson on what OAL of cartridge the M1919 will feed reliably, I finally took it out at lunch today.

So, Friday was my birthday and I snuck out of work for an extended lunch to go to the range. I really wanted to see if the SCAR was really more controllable than an AR as I've heard the internet commandos say. I haven't really been able to wring the SCAR out as right after I got it, I've been...
Well, just as SOCOM decides to cancel the FN Mk16 SCAR, I picked mine up. I thought I might as well post some pictures of my "collectors item" (just a joke...I'm sure they will continue to produce these for the civilian market as long as people will buy them) and some initial thoughts.
I...
I have quite a few 1911's -- a Colt, Les Baer, Dan Wesson, Para, Kimber -- but they are all relatively modern production. However, I need some help ID-ing an early 1911.
Below are some pix I took to help a buddy out. This pistol was purchased used about 50 years ago by the buddy's uncle...
Well, I've searched the forum pretty extensively and have either used the wrong search terms or have overlooked the specific thread.
My google fu also reveals only a few hits that are relevant. Here's the deal.
My collection is around 105 guns (haven't done a count recently). None are...
After loathing ARs for a good chunk of my early adult life, I tried one around 6 or 7 years ago and now they've kind of starting breeding like bunnies...
Whenever I take my kids to the range (12, 10 and 8 years old), they tend to steal my M4-gery and shoot it with the .22LR conversion unit...
...but it does give me an excuse to play Sands of Iwo Jima in the basement. Or for this puppy, might be more appropriate to be day 4 of the 6-Day War.

If you've seen my other posts and pictures of my gun collection, you'll know I'm into mil-surps and modern military semi-auto rifles.
Over the last couple of weeks I've "fallen" into some good deals on long guns that aren't my usual cup of tea. I ran across an FN PBR XP on this forum a few...
I just got home from a business trip in Poland this weekend. I connected through Munich and while walking back to my seat, I passed an older gentleman with a 101st Airborne hat on and a green flight jacket draped over his seatback. The nameplate had his name, unit designation and underneath...
It's April 15th and we all know what that means...Buy a Gun Day!!
I just put one of these on pre-order. Shipping expected in May.
MSAR StG556 E4
I just got one of these about a month ago, but thought that's outside of the "window" to claim as BAG Day
I like the idea of running .22LR through an AR platform...cheap practice but more importantly to me, it is a good way to have a "cool" factor when I am introducing a youngster to shooting (usually start them off with a single shot Savage Cub and iron sights and then move them to a youth Henry...
In honor of Obama acting all presidential and everything, I decided to add one more AR to the world. Do it now while we still can, I guess...

I'm building up a 6.5 Grendel carbine...I have all the parts but when it comes up to the flash hider, I noticed that the barrel threads that Alexander Arms uses are called out as 9/16-24tpi. In my internet searches, I don't see any flash hiders or other muzzle devices that are of this thread...
