    Someone bring back the Luger.

According to the "Tales of the Gun" episode, there's a company somewhere in the US that's planning on making copies of the Luger in .45ACP. Price is estimated to be $15,000:what: Takes "collectible" to a whole new level.:D

Israeli Commando Invents Gun That Can Shoot Around Corners !!!

I seem to recall that during WWII the Germans had a sub-machine gun with a curved barrel for the same purpose. Everything old is new again.

Time-lapse photo of AC130 gunship in action

There used to be a series on the Discovery Channel called "Wings" or "Great Planes". One of the episodes was on the C-130 and there was about 30 seconds of video from a live fire of I think an AC-130H that was amazing. Most of it was taken from a plane in front and it looked like a continuous...

    Taurus Customer Service?

The two times I've had to contact Taurus for parts I've been treated very well. The first time was for the pin that holds the extractor in the slide on a PT-945 (lost it while cleaning) and the pin that holds the adjustable rear sight to the frame on a PT-99 (lost while shooting). Both parts...

    American Ammunition, Inc. Good?

If you're not a reloader then it's about as good as any, goes bang every time. The brass is total crap. I'll buy Wolf before I'll buy A-MERC.

How can you tell if a crimp is tight enough?

From my recent experience crimp is not an absolute value. I recently started reloading for 7.62X54R and here's the outcome. M-39 Finnish Mosin Nagant "B" barrel slugged at .310. Lapua cases, 150 grain Sierra FMJ-BT .308 dia., 174 grain Sierra FMJ-BT .3105 dia, H-380 and IMR-4064 powders...

    Field Report--M-39 Ukko Pekka

The "sneak" M-39's as they're called by some are quite intrigueing. I have a 1942 "B" barrel that's one of my favorites. As for your "rim lock", make sure there's no grunge under the interruptor/spring assembly and as a last resort you might straighten out the bend in the interruptor just a...

    Target Shooting the SKS

SKS's are a bunch of fun and can be fairly accurate. The group size on my Norinco shrank a bunch just by cleaning up the trigger pull and putting an .005" shim between the rear of the action and the stock. You could actually shift the action in the stock. It's still no tack driver but at...

    Priming and depriming

I use an RCBS hand primer on all my reloads even though I use a Hornady LNL progressive for pistol rounds. I've been using one since I started many years age using just an RCBS Rockchucker and haven't come up with a good reason to change. I can sit and watch TV while I prime 1000 cases or so...

Umm derrrrr how do you pronounce "Mosin Nagant"?

I can't tell you how to pronounce it, but I can tell you it translates from the Russian to: Emptier of bank account, or, maximizer of credit limit. :what: Proceed with caution. PS, their favorite breeding place is in a dark, cool, gun safe.:D

National Ammo Day November 19, 2003

Sheesh, it don't rain but it pours. That's the day after the release of the extended version of "The Two Towers". Looks like I won't be buying as much as I wanted.:fire:

    Nagant stripper clips

If all you want is to put ammo IN strippers, then Tapco is OK. If you actually want to load ammo FROM the strippers INTO the rifle then look for original Russian strippers. The ones from Tapco are real iffy as to use. Some I have work OK, some won't fit into the guide with ammo in them...

Anyone gotten the Australian 308/7.62 surplus?

I bought a can from Midway out of curiosity and was impressed. A brand new .30 cal can and four of the best bandoliers I've ever seen plus strippers. It shoots really well in my Gibbs #7 too. Practically zero muzzle flash. My shooting buddy said it was wimpy compared to some '60's Radway...

    Enfield Identification

If the rear sight only goes to 800 meters it's a 2A1. The 2A rear sights go to, IIRC, 3000 yards.:what: My Gibbs #7 is built on a 2A I'm sad to say as the 2A's are considered C&R but the 2A1's are not. On the right side of the buttstock socket it should say RIFLE 2A1 and the date of...

    Enfield Identification

If it's a Navy Arms Enfield chambered in .308 then it's most likely an Ishapur 2A or 2A1 based on the Enfield #1 action. I'm not 100% sure but I think the wood is interchangeable between the "Ishy's" and the #1's.
