    .357 magnum rifle for deer?

357 mag is quite legal and effective in Indiana. If you want the most out of it, you should reload it. Just for the record we have no Pistol cartridge rule anymore. We can now use any round .357 and up with a case length of up to 1.8" If you dig around the web you will find a boat load of...

Stop animal harm! Buy meat at the store!

I think the real funny part is, there are people out there who think like this. Kind of like Vegans owning horses to ride. They must not of seen a horse broke for riding. Or think about what they feed their dogs. Lonny

    What I learned today

I have not tried it. There are tools to do it(decapping) there are also guys modifying poscket for boxer primers. I know why do it? Well I will answere with a question. Why bother trying to make a wild cat round or bother reloading to try improving your ammo?:neener: I have seen Berdam...

Hunting Purpose - .357 mag or .45 ACP?

I didnt readd all the post, But check your hunting regs. Some states dont allow .45 acp. Having said that, I would still choose the .357 with a heavy bullet. As long as you know your limitaions and use good judgement you should be fine. Lonny

    Do You Loan Out Guns?

I have re-thought this since I replied. I am sure most of you have a precious closet queen or just some special gun. But if someone had never loaned you a gun, would you have ever even shot a gun?? Lonny

    Do You Loan Out Guns?

I would and have, only to a couple very close friends. I have to youth who are hunting next to me(arms length) The catch being, it comes home by sundown. I do not have a MEGA dallor collection or closet queens. I do have guns for hunting and they get used. Lonny

    zero ammuntion

I have to think they are still in buisness. I bought some last summer. I bought it at a police supply shop, they have a pretty good ammo turn over. Accuracy I cant say. we use it for plinking in a Contender once in a while with no issues. Lonny

    New Mossberg Owner

The smooth barrels are cheap. Check your gun shops. If I were only using it for home defense an occasional plinking, I would sell the rifle barrel and buy the smooth bore. You can still shoot slugs and buckshot out of the smooth bore. We have 3 Mossberg's. 12-20 bantam, 410. All smooth bore...

Deer Hunting - Nearly Silent Shotgun

Political correctness. Otherwise they would bring in load of Bow hunters and doit during daylight. Doing it at night is a case of out of site out of mind. Oh and the 7 foot barrel is used with a reduced load to quiet down the shot. Lonny Here is a previous story same gun...

    Considering an H&R Handi-Rifle

I believe some folks were having problems with the surplus 5.56 in the .223. The 5.56 outer deminsions are the same but the walls are thicker to the inside. When fired i believe the casing was swelling creating a stuck casing. I will not swear to this, but I am thinking(woops) that is what I...

    Considering an H&R Handi-Rifle

If you dont reload, you should look to the .223. I recently picked up Remington for $10 a box of 20, and a generic for $8. I have not priced the .22hornet so I am not sure there. Lonny
