Here is my standard link for threads like this. Assuming that the article has not been sensationalized, taken out of context, etc., here is the story of a man who was convicted of perjury for telling the truth. There are a couple of Findlaw links to court reports in the article as well.
Saying that carrying a gun means that you are
"looking for trouble" makes about as much sense as saying that wearing a seat belt
(or having insurance) means that you are "looking for an accident".
This is not mine but IMHO it is still a good one:

Several companies have developed solid copper hollow points. This technology should be adaptable to silver.
Who wants to write the screenplay for The World's Shortest Werewolf Movie? :D
The Black Ray Pistol from the post-apoc RPG Gamma World is nasty. If its beam hit any living thing that was not protected by a forcefield, the lifeform died.
If we expand this discussion to grenades, GW also has some nasty grenades: The Torc Grenade disintegrated anything that did not...
It's more like a couple thousand meters per second, driven by artificial gravity technology. Military pulsers may use explosive darts. There are also flechette guns which are basically uber-shotguns that drive bunches-o'-projectiles with artificial gravity.

Yo Mamma so tactical that when the SWAT team was called to execute a "No Knock" warrant on her, they changed it to an "OK, We'll Knock Just This Once" warrant.

Only Skunk's presence keeps the Alien Invasion Fleet at bay.

Perhaps the batteries are there to store the energy from shaking. Are they generic watch-type batteries, or some sort of rechargeable batteries? Could regular batteries be recharged by the shaker coil?

I bought a flashlight very similar to this one. My Roadpro Grip Power light has only one LED, all of the ones that I found online had 3(perhaps mine is an older model). Pumping it charges a NiCad battery for the LEDs. Like the shaker lights, mine is adequately bright for not tripping over...
