I've been trying to make a decision on a new safe for a couple of months. I've looked at a lot of and purchased a few gun safes over the years. Seeking more security and fire protection, I stopped by a local locksmith and safe store which advertised having the largest selection in the area...
I had PRK done about six years ago. I chose the procedure due to a occupational hazard of getting punched in the eye. My doctor thought my precaution probably unnecessary but said it was up to me. As most things I get involved in, I overthought the procedure and made myself crazy after seeing...
How does an insurance company decide whether your safe is a safe? For example, I notice that Graffunder has gun safes rated as "B, C, D", etc. Who assigns these ratings and would one of these suffice as a "safe" vs. RSC for insurance purposes?
Thanks
Bob
Thanks very much for the replies and all of the information. The deal may fall through however. It now seems there is a creditor with a secured interest in the safe and other furnishings in the store.
I'm just going to have to wait and see.
Thanks.
Bob
I have a chance at a used "Original" TL-30 X 6 safe. It is in a local jewelry store that is closing. It's dimensions are about 71" high by 41" wide. It is supposed to weigh about 4500 pounds. I can buy this and have it moved for less than an average Liberty, Browning, etc., like the...
We were making the gun shop tours yesterday and I saw some rsc's made by Superior Safe Co. The label said they had a 3/16" body and a 1/2" door. They looked nice but prices ran from 5-6K.
Anyone heard of them or have one?
Thanks
Bob
Hello all.
Yes I have purchased the safe.....about six months ago. After a great deal of looking, reading, and thinking about it, I purchased another Sturdy Safe Company Minuteman model. I went with the firelined model that is 48" wide and 72" high. I will say that while the first Sturdy...
Hello A1.
Thanks again for the response, I am a much better informed consumer due to your responses and prior posts.
"The first problem is that their employees undergo no background check, and are not bonded or insured. Often these employees are teenagers, and they have access to your safe...
Hello and Thank You for responding.
"Were these salesmen employed at a safe company or at a business that just happens to sell safes? If you weren't speaking to somebody in the locksmithing business, it's hard to say if what you've heard if even close to accurate.
One of the stores I went...
Hello.
I hate to beat a dead horse but I was hoping someone could clear up a question or three for me. I am looking for a gun safe (RSC), this one will actually be in the house (den).
I understand no safe will keep a skilled and determined intruder out if he is given ample time to break...
We stopped shopping in the Valley Plaza Mall five years ago. The center island merchants catered to teenagers and the Mall became a hangout for kids. I started to notice a shift from teenagers to gang bangers and started to recognize former prisoners on a frequent basis. I didn't need that...
I noticed that the blue Sig 220 and 245 expire on the California certified list 12/31/05. This surprised me as I thought the the 220 was still a popular pistol. Are the non-stainless/railed/etc. being discontinued?

Marvin
I bought my Dad the complete TV series "Combat" on DVD. I remembered it was his favorite show when I was a kid.
The better half gave me a Geiselle trigger for my Service Rifle and permission to order a 04 takedown carbine from Wild West Guns when they become available.
Oh....almost...
I've been told these take M-16 bayonets. Could be a prison gun. California DOC currently uses a special order model GB with a 1-7" twist but the agency does not sell or trade any weapons off anymore. Institutions issue models with wooden stocks while transportation units use the folders...
From the B of E website FAQ.
"If I make drop shipments on behalf of out-of-state retailers. Am I liable for sales tax?
If you make drop shipments or courtesy deliveries to consumers in California on behalf of out-of-state retailers, you are not liable for tax if the out-of-state retailer...
I have a couple of friends that are dealers and they tell me that the Board of Equalization is telling them to collect tax on out of state transfers, consignments, etc. As I see it, I don't think this is legal but I don't blame the dealer for charging it since the B of E will assess these taxes...
Wow. Ok, let me think about this for a second. I haven't worked an audit involving the Board of Equalization for many years. My slant on this is that the taxable event takes place when the ownership of the taxable item changes (when the item is sold). I'm saying sold here, not DROS'd. BOE...
Hello all. I hope this is an easy question but I have little experience with Sig products. I see pistols marked "Exeter, New Hampshire" and was wondering if they were manufactured there or in Germany and then imported. If they are made here, when did the German imports stop and American...
I bought mine last week, a S&W 16-3, .32 S&W. I have been looking for one of these for a long time and was a pretty happy camper when I finally ran across a nice one.
Marvin.
