I've carried many types of 45ACP pistols including a few compact polymers, but my AMT Back Up 45 is by far my favorite.
It's the smallest 45ACP semi-automatic pistol ever built. It's not much bigger than a box of ammo.
Recoil is extremely manageable, accuracy is superb at CQB distances...
Greetings, Dr. Rob.
The Ghost Trigger Shield is a homemade solution,..just like my "patent pending" Covert-T Holster...:
Okay, so I may have over done it with the " Patent Pending" part, but I made a holster out of a clothes hanger. :)
Yep, I'm pretty dangerous when I'm bored and have...
Thanks, fellas.
Here's a photo I took yesterday. I think it gives a good visual on the Back Up's diminutive, micro size. So far it's proven to be quite reliable.
THANKS, Guys. I appreciate the kind words.
I was pretty apprehensive about the epoxy and sanding process, too, but I "went-for-it" anyway. I was determined to git'r done right..! :)
Here's a photo showing more of the checkered frontstrap after the install..
I recently purchased my Back Up 45 and so far it's proven to be quite a reliable little fire breathing cannon. A few more non-issue trips to the range and it'll most likely become my primary CCW.
The pistol is constructed in s/s and although it's very manageable during fire [and rapid fire] , I...
The AMT Back Up 45 is the smallest 45ACP semi-automatic ever made. It has a 2.80" barrel, but felt recoil is very manageable because the pistol is constructed in 100% stainless and has a heavy mainspring designed to work in conjunction with the recoil spring, to help reduce recoil.
Here's a...
I believe a Dealer in Dallas is taking pre-order deposits for the R45.
Rumored to have a MSRP north of $1K, IF AND WHEN it enters the stream of commerce, I would wait for any reliability wrinkles to be ironed out before a coin drop is initiated.
Correct.
It was disclosed in January that a R45 was definitely in the works. Still no mention on ETA, though. Not even it's dimensions have not been published. All thats known is that the R45 will maintain some of the R9 aesthetic characteristics.
Dawg, I recently acquired my Back Up 45. I've only taken out to the range once, since then. It performed flawlessly and even ate 185gr SWC loads with a vengeance. Surprisingly, recoil was extremely manageable, even more so than with my G30. Accuracy was exceptional at CQB distances. Once it's...
Mice pistols in my carry history include:
The smallest 380 ACP semi-automatic ever produced: Seecamp LWS380
The smallest 9mm semi-automatic ever produced: Rohrbaugh R9
and presently, the smallest 45 ACP semi-automatic ever produced: AMT Back Up 45.
It's obvious that felt recoil is very subjective.
I find my Back Up [shooting 230gr FMJ loads] is easier to control than my Glock 30 [45acp] and the Glock 26 [9mm] I use to carry not too long ago.
My Back Up .45 is THE softest shooting 45acp pistol Ive ever owned.
go figure...... :)
