    Sass

What's the latest on the SASS (AR10 Semi Auto Sniper System) platform? Another thread led me to the Panther™ LRT-SASS for $2109, which got me wondering what the recent developments surrounding the the whole SASS concept are.

    Artificial heart valves & shooting

Now that I'm literally ticking like a watch, I need to know if anyone has any solid information about shooting (everything from .22LR pistol to >.308 rifle) with an artificial heart valve and/or pacemaker.

    Parker cross-appeal?

AFAIK, the rest of the Parker plaintiffs have an un-answered cross-appeal sitting in stasis before SCOTUS. Consider: Mr. Heller is the only remaining Parker plaintiff because he was the only one who actually filed for a permit, and was formally rejected. The others lost standing because...

    Karambit carry?

Got a Cold Steel karambit. Elegant, sharp, marvelous all around - except carrying the durn thing! Any suggestions on how to carry it in a manner effective to both discretion and drawing?

Heller and M16s/ Heller vs. 922(o) (threads merged)

Thus they skirt the machinegun issue: common folk don't have them, therefore they are not protected - utterly failing to take into account that a tool cannot become common if it is largely prohibited before broad distribution is reached (to wit: every AR15 would likely have a "third position" if...

    Heller: Plurality option?

The latest buzz about Heller is the possibility that the result will be a plurality opinion. From SCOTUSblog: In the interest of rescuing another discussion from threadjacking, I'm copying the key points here: BlisteringSilence writes: Have at it.

    Heller: "written in that sitting"?

From today's SCOTUS announcements: Can someone knowledgeable elaborate on the phrase "written in that sitting"?

    N-prize

From n-prize.com: Awright, that allows a bullet 155-308 grains and a rifle under $2K - well within the experience of this board's participants, but straining our understanding of trajectory, velocity, and external ballistics. What would it take to launch one into orbit?

    Day by Day calendar?

What's the status of the Oleg / Day-by-Day calendar collaboration? I only recall a couple images last year, and many people were looking forward to more. (Just stirrin' the puddin'...)

    Color determination from infrared photo?

(While not gun related, this is security related, and of current relevance.) Mindbender: given a photo taken with an infrared camera, is there any way to discern to any degree the color of cloth photographed? (Lighting conditions were poor.)

    Need NYC Lawyer ASAP

I've been contacted by someone who has been charged, wrongly, for possession of a "gravity knife" in NYC. Can anyone please recommend a NYC lawyer who is competent in NY/NYC knife law?

    Clergy Response Team

As noted in a derailed thread, there is word floating about of the Department of Homeland Security assembling a Clergy Response Team. Apparently, from what little can be discerned, the point is to have clergy go about in an emergency, persuading all to stay calm and cooperate with authorities...

    Catch phrase

I've noticed that one problem with the pro-RKBA crowd is the tendency to get wrapped up in long wordy discussions. Oleg has done a great job with many of his posters, distilling an issue to a simple sentence or two ... but most people just get all wordy and apologetic. Our opposition...

    Communism vs. firearms

In an attempt to stop thread hijacking... Au contraire, it MUST happen for a communist society (short of a very small and very voluntary one) to survive as such. The essence of communisim is "what's yours is mine", which requires that you not be able to stop me from taking/using your stuff ...

Constitution: "No tax on state exports" & NFA?

Regarding the NFA: The Constitution states "No Tax or Duty shall be laid on Articles exported from any State". As the NFA is justified as an exercise of the "interstate commerce" clause, thus directly (or per Raich, indirectly) involving/affecting exporting articles exported from the...

    Analyzing the Parker verdict

Going thru the Parker verdict, there is much to discuss, and some points that will cause issues later. While much is laudable and interesting, this prompted me to start this thread: Being in GA, the "no carry in alcohol-serving restaurants, churches, or public gatherings" is a serious problem...
