Wait a minute. While I don't know the whole story -- I know just what I was told by a former Shooters Supply employee -- this isn't right. Gander Mountain opened on Eastex in Beaumont in June of 2005. I remember it well. It was almost two years later that Shooters Supply closed down. And I don't...
A-yep. I agree with that completely. And I know some might think that comment out of line, but I'd rather deal with these cretins with harsh words now than with copper-jacketed lead at 2700 fps later.
He'd be wise to take his own advice, especially when he speaks of gun registration, considering the historical reality of the confiscations that followed.
This is true, but our "neighbors" to the south will point the finger at us all day long and say it's our fault the criminals are getting guns. Yet every time we try to secure the border a little more they scream bloody murder. :scrutiny:
WARNING: I am not a professional photographer, nor do I play one on TV.That said, here's a not-so-good cell-phone camera pic of my Springfield Loaded with Hogue rubber wraparounds with the finger grooves.

I've said it before, but...
I bought the parked one for $760 & change after tax from a local FFL who's a friend of a friend of the family. And of course, to get back on topic, the rifle prices aren't any better. Like I tell my FFL all the time, I go to GM to look, but I go see him when I want to buy.
Texarkana, New Boston and Sulphur Springs, my old stomping grounds. I grew up in T-town and still have family in NB and SS. :D As for Gander Mountain...I was at the Beaumont, TX store yesterday window-shopping. Saw a stainless Springfield Loaded for right at a grand, and a parked one for about...
+1 on everything MCgunner said. I have a P89 and a P90 and have had no trouble out of them in the almost three years I've owned them.
Underline them, I say. Two or three times. Ooooh, just a thought...2009 SHOT Show introduction of Ruger P-gun chambered for the 10mm, anyone? One can dream, and...
I hadn't either, until I first got into the market for a 10mm 1911 in late '06. The folks at the gun shop said the DWs were great, even though they recommended the Kimber -- which is what I ended up getting first. But the Dan Wesson in my experience is every bit the equal of the more expensive...
From what I've read, Obama actually taught constitutional law at the college level. Which, considered the above-quoted truth, is quite frightening indeed.
Not a fluke, so, SHHH! :D I have a Razorback and really like it. For the price and the way it's built a Dan Wesson is one of the best 1911 values on the market.
From everything I've heard about the Witness it's hit-or-miss, and God help you if you get a bad one. I don't know anything about Vitor, but if they make a good gun and back up their product, I'd be VERY interested in getting one of these.
Springfield. I have two Kimbers, love them and wouldn't give them up, but the Springfield is just as good of a pistol as the Kimber and it'll cost you less money. Lifetime warranty makes it an even better value; I know you shouldn't need that, but it's good to know it's there if you do need it...
1911. The bare-bones Springfield GI or Milspec would be a great choice; my GI set me back about $425 after tax, and I am thinking the milspec would be about $100-150 more. But that's just a guess on my part.
