    Portugese NATO .308 'dud'

Just an FYI I had a dud primer today, after happliy shooting a few cases of the Portugese stuff over the past year or so. I re-loaded it back into my Garand to see if it was just a lite f-pin strike but no joy. For the pure pursiut of science I loaded it into my Mauser but again no...

    no-frills G.I. 1911 project update......it actually works!!

Once I got it to feed by finding an old dusty two-tone mag and did some heavy polish work on the 'feed zone' she actually fired all of her first 7 round mag w/o problems! It has taken a few days of 'fitting'...........file, sand, drill, polish......*.......alot of listining to my gunsmith as...

    OK........I now have a problem

At the ripe old age of 40 (never though I'd make it to 30!) my gun collection now gives away my age. Gone are the 'black rifles' w/pistol grips and 30 round mags........ in the last 10 years:AR(s), FN, Mini-14 GB, AUG, Valmet 76, Galile(SP), HK 91/93, M14. Now I only seen to enjoy WWII...

    IMI Timberwolf .357mag pump action............HA!!!

I have wanted one of these for years and finally have one! After checking one out in Isreal back in 97 my search has been on. I never saw one locally or at gunshows and the examples I saw on GunsAmerica & other online spots looked well worn and were expensive. About six months ago I ordered...

    stoked!!

I have decided to build a 1911. I do a bit of work for a local gunsmith and saw enough parts around to build a nice service grade WWII issue .45 sidearm. No custom parts or adjustable sights, just what folks like my dad lugged around during the war. I'm fully stoked. While i have owned...

range report on that CTD Fiocchi police 9mm 147g

Well I got to the range today with my Baby Eagle 9mm and a box of the Fiocchi stuff that Cheaper Than Dirt has been advertising. I actually heard about it here and ordered some up. Not a real scientific test mind you!! The stuff looks almost exactly like the old Black Talons I used to...

    $300+ scope on a $129 rifle..........am I nuts???

Well that's what I now have. My trusty NEF .17HMR single-shot is now sporting a Simmons Model WTC45 4.5X14X42mm AO beast and shoots quite nicely so far compared to the $30 POS it replaced (as you can imagine). http://www.simmonsoptics.com/images/whitetailcsm1.jpg Now I'm not into...

    Dan Wesson .357max.............gone!

.....well that will teach me!!! A month back or so we were discussing DW's .357max and I mentioned that there was a nice one for sale at a local gun shop and posted a PH#/link. Well I went in there yesterday with the intention of perhaps picking it up for myself and it was gone! It had...

odd FTF problem...........should be a snap for the experts here though

After being a P7 owner for the last 18 years or so, it's flawlwss operation had me unprepared for what my new-ish IMI Baby Eagle is doing. While shooting three mags today it FTFed once on each mag where the slide locked back even though the mag was not empty. I had to pull back on the slide a...

    If I owned Magnum Research

I'd make a Desert Eagle in .30 Carbine that would reliably feed like butter with the rimless case, and happliy give the ease of 'head shots' at 75+ yards with .357 mag performace. lighter with smaller grip&mag width, much smaller bolt face with easier extraction .....but that's just me...
