4gr is Hodgdon's published max for 230gr jacketed, but lots of people claim to load beyond that. Some have to just to make PF...so don't be surprised if you only get into the low 700s FPS.

Speer SP .45 is far from new. I suspect all .45 factory ammo will eventually be converted over to SP...so even if you hate it, you should start saving it just like LP brass, but separately. Eventually, your LP brass will wear out / get lost, and you'll be loading SP .45.
