Wow thanks that was fast. Serial number dates it to January 1918. Needs a new pad and the barrel crowned (has some big gouges). But the bore looks good. Blueing is good, no rust. Bolt cycles well, but is a little stiff, even after some oil.
Can anyone ID this rifle? It appears to be a sporterized military rifle, but I'm not sure what kind. Only other markings (without taking scope/stock off) are E's on the bolt, bolt release, and safety, and I can see the top of what looks like "EYO" in script on the L side of the reciever. Scope...
Don't forget. The placebo effect is real. Which is to say that a placebo doesn't create an imagined benefit, it produces a real benefit. Still a placebo though.
Well, muffling your ears makes the head taps sound louder, which helps with the masking effect. And the more elaborate the procedure, the more likely suggestible people will think it works...
But don't mind me, I'm just an ear doctor.
This may give temporary relief because it is distracting. Focusing on your tinnitus makes it louder. Listening to something else makes it quieter. Masking is the best way to deal with tinnitus. There is nothing magic about tapping your head...

Federal bulk for plinking. (probably 90% of total rounds I shoot)
Lapua Master M for ego-building tiny groups at the range.
CCI segmented subsonics (quick shock) for exploding squirrels without making much noise.

I am going pistol shopping for the wife and am looking for some recommendations on gun shops in the East Bay/Oakland area (I am in Oakland, so closer the better). I would like her to handle as many different firearms as possible to find something that fits her best (she has small and weak...
