    Chiappa Rhino Kaboom= injury.

I don't remember if it was here or another forum, but several years ago I predicted that someone would eventually get seriously injured by a Rhino kaboom. Stuff happens and eventually you'll get someone with a squib or a double charge, or just a fubar situation, and the gun goes kaboom. With a...

4064 for sure. Or 4895. Yes there is a difference between IMR and Hodgdon.

    40 S & W loads with MBC hard cast

My favorite powder for lead bullets in the 40S&W is Accurate No.7. Clean, meters like water, low flash (unlike No.5) and very accurate.

.22 RF (short, long, LR, or WMR) for CCW ?

    1. .22 WMR beats .22LR hands down. The difference is significant. 2. 40 grain solids. Penetration. Penetration. Penetration. (a HP is not going to expand at handgun velocities anyway) 3. Revolver. Too many rimfire problems -- failure to feed, failure to fire, failure to extract. etc. IMO...

    Caliber suggestion?

In the AR-10 you could go with an upper in .358 Winchester or .338 Federal. Both are 200 yard (at least) elk cartridges. I would say 250 yards. They are absolutely fantastic on deer too.

    325 wsm

I don't have any specific recommendations, other than, you could do both with the same load. 200+ isn't "that far". I've been having great luck in 35 caliber with regular old Hornady Interlock bullets that are very reasonably priced, consider them a very "good deal". In 8mm for bear and elk...

Pro 2A vs. antis: "Compromise of the century"

Don't be deceived. This is ONLY because the registry is closed. In many cases a full auto (i.e. open bolt) is cheaper to make than a semi auto version. "Shall not be infringed" already means all of that and more, yet here we are. If we compromise we are heading the wrong direction. My...

Digital scale in the $50 range?

I have the one just like the American Weigh pictured above... except I got it shipped from DealXtreme or something like that for $23 (free shipping). It would take a set of $500 check weights to determine which is more accurate, the $1500 Ohaus balance in my lab, or this $23 piece. Knowing...

    Thoughts on LC9

I really like mine (my daughter's... purple even). Very good accuracy at 7 yards. The trigger is fine - much better than the KelTec P11 I used to own. I handled the LC9s this weekend and it's a somewhat Glock-like trigger. Probably more to most people's liking, but not enough for me to go buy...

    338 win mag vs.338-06

There's no reason the .338-06 would not do the job.

What rounds could we see crossing over between long gun and handgun?

Firstly... 44 cal 225gr FTX; BC=.150 44 cal 200gr XTP; BC=.170 44 cal 240gr XTP; BC=.205 The lighter XTP has a better BC than the heavier FTX... usually it's the other way around... heavier bullets of the same design have a better BC. IOW pistol FTX bullets are marketing hype. Rifle...

    Your experience with BLC-2?

A word of caution... OK, two... IME, not as predictable as my IMR "stick" powders (goes from OK to over pressure very quickly). Didn't like to be compressed. At all. Keep an eye on the powder level and where the base of the bullet is. Different brass will have different capacity, sometimes...
