    Taurus Quality

I'm looking for opinions on the quality of Taurus revolvers these days. In asking around at local shops they tell me that its about the same quality as a Ruger. Specifically, I am looking at the 617 with 2 inch barrell. I havent yet decided on blue or stainless. I shot a firend's 22 cal...

Mil-Dot best for long range shooting?

I have a Ballitic Plex on my Browning Abolt and I agree that its a good scope for hunting. I've heard mixed reports on Nikon so I am not sure about it even though the price is appealing. I just bought a Remington 700P LTR for long range target practice and I'll probably take it hunting...

Mil-Dot best for long range shooting?

ahhh... yea I'm married with children so thats not my motivation. So does anyone know of any scopes that have bullet drop compensator knobs for around $500? The closest thing I can find is three of the Leupold Mark 4 scopes for around $1k and add a couple hundred more for the TMR reticles...

Mil-Dot best for long range shooting?

I was going to stick with a Burris Ballistic Plex but I want to try shooting upto 800yards. Would a Mil-Dot scope be the way to go? Any suggestions on scopes? ...under $500?

    Remington 700P for hunting?

I've been using a 3-9x40 and have been wanting to try a higher power for long range. I think Eshell had the answer for me and I'll probably go with the 4.5-14x40(which is what I was leaning towards anyways). Thanks again to everyone for the feedback.

    Remington 700P for hunting?

Well, I bought the 700P LTR this weekend. Cant wait to try it out. I'm thinking about putting either a 4.5-14x42 or a 6.5-20x50 on it. Any recomendations? Hunting/Target shooting.

I recently heard about the 40-XB and 40-XS and was wondering if anyone knows what the differences are between these and the Model 700P and LTR models.

Do you ever choose your guns by what caliber you can get easiest or cheapest?

I didnt think about it much until I bought my 270WSM. Not only is it $35 a box for the stuff that shoots well in my rifle, but I cant get it everywhere. Thats why I'm changing to a 308. I'll come back to the 270WSM when I decide to start reloading.

I bought it! Tikka T3 .270wsm, laminated ss

Karbon, Ballistic tip in 150 gr worked well for mine. I've taken boar from 20 yards to 150 yards and they usually drop right on the spot. I'd guess that a deer wouldnt be a problem. Carles S, Where did you find Hornady in WSM? I've been wanting to try some.
