Thank you, 140 was my thought also, 123-125 seemed too light.

Let me know what you think.

Let me clarify some things, I wasn't considering this fir the grandkids, I just came upon it while looking for rifles for the grand kids. I'm sure it was re barreled, the barrel doesn't look military, and is stamped .300 savage. It just looked interesting to me.

Let me know what you think.

While looking for rifles for my two grandchildren, I came across a type 99, that has been rechambered in 300 savage. It has been sporterized, with a thumbhole stock, looks like a boyds. I just know nothing about the type 99. The price is $200.00. I know everything is a gamble, but does anyone...

    can my scope be saved

I was thinking about the desiccant and bag idea, but I have access to a mig welder. Now I'm thinking fill the bag with argon with the desiccant, then reassemble the eye piece. I will update when I do this.

I replaced the scope, then looking at the bad scope, I removed the eye piece and tightened the lenses, I reassembled the scope, it looks and functions properly, but I'm sure there is just regular...

    another case ID question.

Yes 93 is old, I've had the bucket for quite awhile. Cleaning up the gun room, and decided to clean and load that bucket to get better organized. It just seemed odd that it is the only "copper colored case" in the bucket. I am sure they are all once fired, they came from a qualification range...

    another case ID question.

this was in a bucket of range pickup brass. I'm sure it has only been fired once, I also don't think it has been in contact with a chemical that would have changed the composition of the brass, but I have no explanation for the copper color. It came from a federal gov. shooting range. I loaded...

    The most sickening sound.

I've heard just about every type of firearm hit the pavement, for one reason or another, and when the sound effects in a movie are accurate, it makes me cringe.

    The most sickening sound.

It passed all the safety checks. about to function check. This is the only blemish that I can't account for. this pistol has seen alot of use.
