    Another bite at the apple?

It would have to be for financial reasons, once I've let the gun go it is unlikely I'll want it back otherwise.

Well, at least the rifle was okay....but what's up with the suppressor?

Yep, in the cases I have seen, you cannot even see where the bullet has touched the baffle. Even in circumstances where you can take the can apart and scrub each individual baffle. That has been the case even with aluminium baffles. There was one incident at the range where a can had been...

Well, at least the rifle was okay....but what's up with the suppressor?

You have baffle strikes, is my guess. If it was me I would check that the suppressor "shoulders" cleanly to your barrel. That means no dirt in the threads of the suppressor, and it needs to tighten up snug to your barrel with no slop. Stuff I have seen happen at the range where I shoot: 1) Slop...

    M855A1 projectiles.......cores spin?

If that was me I would test it in ballistic gel: 1. Find a cartridge with a bullet that has a loose steel insert 2. Draw a line from the tip of the insert to the cannellure with a Sharpie 3. Carefully single-load that cartridge into the chamber of the gun 4. Fire in gel and retrieve the bullet...

Can a Convicted Felon Go to a Firing Range Strictly as a Observer? No Handling or Firing.

That is probably the best course of action. I hope you guys don't mind if I reach across the Atlantic with my fat stubby finger and hit the lock button now.

    Silencers - Why?

Our shooting range is in a residential area. We have a rule that if anyone shoots before 09:30 they must shoot suppressed. Same applies to after dusk shooting. Nicer for the neighbours. Over here they are called "sound moderators" We currently have a government consultation started, looking to...

Asking for a Friend (stuck suppressor on rifle)

Strap wrench works well, I had to disassemble 11 segmented cans at our range that were really hard to undo. Used two of these: You might get away with one, as yours is stuck on a rifle.

Need to replace a rubber buffer on an R55 Benchmark

I thought I would provide an update: after many thousands of rounds, this buffer is going strong! This is the buffer from the other R55, installed at the same time. All that has happened is a colour change to a deep amber:

    Magazine Storage

I had a problem, deciding how to store 10 of those Ruger BX25 magazine. I went online and found a fabric shop that sells materials to reupholster high-wear seats. They list the fabric by the number of "rubs" it takes to wear through. I settled on a 40k rub, fire retardant, black faux suede...

Pistol Purchase In A Gun Shop

When buying second hand, I would expect to take all the risks of buying "as-is" unless the seller provided some sort of warranty. There are some sellers who have taken a few extra steps to ensure (as best they can) that the gun is not faulty. It is worth paying that kind of seller a few bucks...

    Crisbow Crossbow (pic heavy)

It's great to see these bows being worked on! The cams would be great, but I agree, they probably should be tested. They are a very difficult shape to model by hand, maybe that's a job for a 3D scanner.

    Crisbow Crossbow (pic heavy)

That's great to see, another Crisbow rescued! Welcome to THR and let us know if you get the cams printed or CNCed. I know a lot of folks (me included) wouldn't mind having the 3D files for those. By the way what stirrup is that on your bow?

Israel now arming civilians after Hamas attack

We've gone very far off the OP's original question and I'm not sure we can drag this out of the weeds. We'll stop here, folks.
