    Small Ring Mauser Stock Options

Try Richards MicroFit. They will take some work, but I’ve had okay luck in the past with them. I’m pretty sure they offer their stocks in mannlicher length under options. As for Mausers in full length stocks, I’m a fan... (Note: this stock is of unknown origins, not a Richards stock)

What's your favorite 3 milsurp rifles to shoot and why ?

    1. 03a4 2. M1D Garand 3. Swede Mauser The list could go on. And on. And on. There are milsurps I like better than others, but I haven’t found ones yet that I just don’t like. There’s the 1917, the SMLE, the p14, etc, etc.

    Old Firearm Projects in Limbo

I used to stockpile projects when I had a functional gun shop. I’d take them in on trade if they floated my boat. Now that I’ve switched careers, I have an entire safe full of unfinished projects. This new year, I think I will start divesting of projects to fund the one that I really want to...

Lyman 57 peep sights on a Mauser 98

    rifle resolutions for 2019

I’m simple. Find more orphaned, beat up guns, get them back to usable and shootable condition. Find which ones I like, sell the others to turn into more projects or fund others. Finish the 30-40 projects that are already in the safe...

What's in your long gun rifle collection.

Like a few others have said, I probably have more projects than many people have guns. I sold most of my guns when I opened my first business to keep the lights on and inventory on the shelves. Thankfully these days, I have a paycheck someone else signs and a supportive wife. Although I think...

    Question about Mannlicher stocks

My favorite walking stick. 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser. When I got it, the wood was hidden under what can best be described as purple stain and spar varnish. This was over 30 hours of work to get that crap off. Well worth it!

Ultralight Folding 9mm Pack Rifle Begins

I wait with great anticipation for the updates of your new build, just like all your others! One question. Why the choice of beretta 92 mags as opposed to a Glock mag? Already have a beretta 92? Thanks again for sharing!

    Question on the Safari Sling

I have one and have used it for years. There has to be a conscious effort to know where the muzzle is, but it is a comfortable method of carry. You have to pay attention to muzzle direction regardless of carry method, and unlike the others here, this method works very well for me.

    M&P 15/22’S problems at Appleseed(s)

Anyone else see something like this and (besides wondering why S&W hasn't fixed this if it's a known issue) wonder which companies are making donations to this organization? It might be the conspiracy theorist in me, but when I see a statement like this put out, I wonder who's money is behind...

    Heading to the desert..

K98. Not even close. Some love for the milsurp bolt guns. Usually it's one of the springfields that goes out with me, but that's only because I haven't got around to restocking the K98 back to original yet...

Custom 1903 Springfield Build is complete!

Did you start the stock from a blank or did you have a partially shaped pattern to work from. Beautiful work by the way. To be honest some of your guns haven't been my style (all look wonderful), but this one resonates. Truly something to be proud of. That is heirloom quality.

What happens if a 7.92mm Mauser is fired in a 30-06?

Anyone who thinks they can make something idiot proof underestimates the ingenuity of idiots. On the gun room wall of Colorado School of Trades, there is a nice Weatherby rifle in pieces. Apparently someone assumed since it was a Weatherby rifle in 7mm Mag, it was a 7mm Weatherby Mag. So...

    30-30 savage 99s

I have one dared to 1903 that I'm currently working on. The stocks need to be replaced and the barrel is shot out, but the workmanship is still evident. Hopefully I can do it justice and make it a beautiful rifle again. But it probably won't stay in .30-30. I was thinking of having it bored out...

Custom Case Hardened 30-06 Mauser project is finally done.

Since you re-purposed a rear sight from a different rifle that was already labeled and the leaves already notched, how did you get the rifle to regulate? Were you able to just adjust the notches and reblue?
