Don't keep guns in your house
I disgusts me how so many of you lock your guns in your gun safes or closets in your homes. That's how guns get into the hands of criminals who use them to commit crimes and beat little puppy dogs. Don't you realize that criminals break into homes and steal guns...
I attended an appleseed shoot last April. I was a decent shooter, good enough for most hunting and target shooting. When I left I was a much better shooter with fewer bad habits. My shooting has gotten even better during year since I've had time to think about, digest, and implement the training...
I took my PLR-16 223 pistol to the DPMS range in St Cloud Minnesota recently and shot it on the 200 yard range. I was shooting about 3 inch diameter groups (my best groups) with my DPMS 308. I fired 30 rounds from the PLR-16 into roughly a 8" diameter circle. I didn't count the holes so there...
I have lots of problems using scopes and most have a tendency to confuse my eye for some reason. The only thing that works really good for me is the Eotech holographic scopes. They are proven in combat and very rugged, too. My eyes even have trouble with ACOG's - go figure. My Eotechs hold zero...
Physical pat down - that's disappointing. I was hoping for the full strip search and cavity search.:barf:
I'm bringing a cane. We'll see if they let me in with that.
Make sure your car is properly licensed, inspected and maintained (tail lights, etc) and don't speed or drive aggressively.
We had a case here in Texas in one large city (before our recent law changes) in which the DA would prosecute people with handguns in their cars, even though TX law...
I suggest taking a class
If money is an issue than look into attending an appleseed class. They are very inexpensive and you can get rid of a lot of bad habits. That's for rifle shooting. For pistol shooting you might have to spend more money for a good class.
An alternative is to simply ask...
The rally was moved to the Target Center. The Target Center is an anti-gun establishment. Here is their policy posted on ticketmaster.com:

Be careful what kind of bear spray you use. Personally, I recommend large caliber bear spray.
Leupold makes a nice spotting scope for a decent price. In clear light it competes well with the best of the best. In low light it's not a good as the expensive stuff. I'm very satisfied with mine.
Forgive me for resurrecting this old thread - update
Here's a post from MadOgre.com about Arizona adding traffic cameras as a fund raising measure. I tend not to speed much these days but I still hate to see stuff like this.

Great work
This is my favorite so far. The idea that a peaceful, easy going gentleman (how the model looks to me) would carry a firearm for protection is powerful and breaks down a lot barriers.
Wear it if you want to
It doesn't really matter whether others wear it or not. If you want to wear a vest or whatever it's your business. I don't because it's inconvenient and I my wife would constantly make fun of me. That doesn't mean that I won't wish I had worn it some day.
Pretty much...
That's one reason I posted this story. I'm curious as to the motive. Anybody wanting to cause trouble could bait and ambush emergency personnel. However, this seems a little haphazard. It's probably just the work of a nut job or some really angry stupid person.
