I know what it is, and appreciate the fine contrast and colors associated with color case, but why would the 1873 Colt SAA have a color case frame and blue cylinder and barrel? Considering that the two finishes are so different and have different life expectancies I was just wondering.
Thanks
When caught away from home and you don't have a proper stone what do you use to hone your blades?
I just did a pretty credible job on my tactical folder using the top edge of my driver side window of my car.
Anybody ever try this? I suppose anything harder than the steel in your blade could...
I'm just dipping my toe into the waters of bullet casting and would like to know how fast you can push cast bullets from a lever action without the problems associated with leading.
I've got a 310 grain semi wadcutter in .45 Colt that I'm going to be loading for a 1892 Rossi. It's not a gas...
I've got a savage 110 in .30-06 that was handed down to my thirteen year old. She's 5'1" and hasn't done much shooting. I want a more age/size appropriate caliber for mule deer hunting. I was thinking on Adams & Bennet in 7MM Mauser or 7MM-08. Which would be easier? With the Mauser would I...
Who are they and what have they done? Reason I ask is that they seem to be around for the sole purpose of supplying data for those intent on suing firearms manufactures. Have they ever represented pro gun type organizations? It seems that they might merely be hired experts that will got up...
Just ran across it on some site selling non firing replicas of Baker Rifles. They claimed that Mexico bought up surplus rifles from britain and many were used at the Alamo. Anybody ever heard of this? It seems odd.
Thanks
Seems a little odd that most college campuses have bans on firearms and yet ROTC cadets routinely carry military arms to and from and even on campus. Are they demilled? I've done no research on this, but it seems like there is a slight problem with firearms policies across the country on this...
never having owned a lever gun before I didn't know what to expect. What a kick in the ass! It's the new stainless carbine(20") and is quite accurate out to fifty yards. I suppose it will go a bit beyond that but I haven't tried yet. The action seems like it needs a little smoothing out...
Sorry, I couldn't seem to decide on where this topic belonged.
I got into a discussion with someone on the makeup of body armor and he said that newer vests had a Kevlar/Carbon Fiber/Ceramic plate composite. I knew that Ceramics were commonly used, but the first I've heard of carbon fiber...
I've got a buddy who just came into ownership(from his great uncle) of a .32-20 Winchester Lever rifle. I haven't seen it so I don't know the model number or serial number. The great uncle took an engraver and tattooed his driver's license number into the reciever some years ago. This...
Somewhere in France is a region/town called Bayonne. At some point bearhunters(or maybe boar) had problems with defending themselves from wounded animals. Some enterprising individual stuck his knife in his gun muzzle and created the bayonet. This is the extent of my knowledge. Is this...
A buddy of mine has a martini-henry and is down to his last 5 rounds. Seems that ammo is expensive so he only shoots it on his birthday. He called his only source at Old Western Scrounger and found that they were out and didn't expect to make any more. Anybody have an idea where there are...
I've got a 96 Swede that I was thinking of turning into a sporter. However, it might be cheaper to leave as is and pick up an allready completed one. I see 96 kimber's around every once in a while and want to know what the deal is with them. Do they shoot? Price range? Strength(regards to...
