Poll. Open Carry. Are You Comfortable Openly Carrying In Legal States?

True, but we were talking about appointment times for permits. Just because you live in Denver, doesn't mean you can't OC when you are outside of Denver.

Poll. Open Carry. Are You Comfortable Openly Carrying In Legal States?

I will add that some who OC in my state, do it for legal reasons. 1.The State allows the sheriff up to 90 days to process your application for a CHP (Concealed Handgun Permit) from the time you submit the application. A few counties play games with this and set you an appointment to submit the...

Poll. Open Carry. Are You Comfortable Openly Carrying In Legal States?

I voted sometimes. I am quite comfortable OC in my little mountain community, even around town, and do so occasionally, although most of the time I CC, mostly just out of habit. Both our Sheriff and the PD in town are very well versed in the laws about carry. I'm not so comfortable with it if I...

    Question for FFLs & Employees

Admin, I wasn't sure where to post, please move if in wrong area. A friend who has a small LGS has asked for my help, as he knows I have previously worked at an FFL and did the A&D books. He currently uses the old paper bound books. He wants to switch over to one of the computerized system and...

    Seismic Ammo

Really wish they'd give some more information on their website. I'm curious enough to read more about this, but not yet curious enough to spend much money on it. Not to spend more than $30 (including shipping and tax) for 21 rds.

My new colt king cobra is here!

So 15-20% failure to fire rate, and you're happy? Unless I could determine that it was ammo, and not gun related I would be very unhappy.

    Carry pistol failure..

".....then after loading it checked that there was smooth cylinder rotation since moon clips can, if mistreated, get bent and cause drag. All was well." In my opinion, this is what caused the breakage. DA revolvers are not designed to have the cylinder turned in this manner, and is very likely...

Did Smith & Wesson ever make an Endurance Package for the 686 .357?

About the only thing you are likely to wear out on a .357 N frame is the cylinder stop. The reason is, if you shoot it DA fast the mass of that cylinder has a lot of momentum to stop. Even that takes a lot of fast DA shooting.

    Model 10 in 357.

Unlike the k frame, the frame of the J frame was changed when they came out with the .357 version. The window was enlarged to accommodate the longer cylinder. It wouldn't surprise me if it was also beefed up some.

Did Smith & Wesson ever make an Endurance Package for the 686 .357?

There are 2 different model 520s. The N frame 520 NYSP (a single run made for the New York State Police, but never delivered) and the L frame 520, which along with the 619, were intended as replacements for the then discontinued K frame .357s.

    Colt S.A.A./Miroku ??

That invoice has nothing to do with that gun. That invoice is for several Colt Single Action Army revolvers in .38 Special with 5.5" barrels all with S/Ns in the 357XXX range. Your gun is not a Colt SAA (Single Action Army), It is a Miroku Special Police S/N 172 . It doesn't even resemble a...

    Colt S.A.A./Miroku ??

That's what I was thinking, and certainly not a SAA. It does have a Colt style cylinder release and may have been owned by a Colt VP.
