I recommend the 34.
I started with a 35 in IPSC and and moved to a 34 in IDPA and steel (its a Sunday issue). The 34 rules in IDPA and in one IPSC division. I, like lance, switched to a 1911 9mm and ain't looking back.
You are right! Get a Officer's sized gun (grip frame) and shoot it and carry it. Width of gun and grip length is the key to carrying. Don't waist $$$ and go through six different guns and even more holsters before you discover you were right in the first place.
You should also have a full...
No MIMber's here. STI's are the best bang for the buck. Quality entry level gun and superb semi-custom guns. SIG-GSR's are solid also.
Start with a five inch and then look at something smaller and lighter to carry: So you'll actually carry.
She carried a G-19 and / or 26 for years; But as the years have taken there toll and she has upper back issues she now carries a Keltech P38T. She shoots it too. Oh and she hates small revolvers.
Alloy works for me. I live in a hot area and dress light 8 to 9 months of the year.
My carry 1911 is an STI Escort in .45. No problems so far. I have steel ones too but not for carry; Unless the Rafe attack but then Ill carry open.
I know that a heavy guide rod like tungsten coupled with the right recoil spring tailored to your load of choice will make a noticeable difference in perceived felt recoil. However, I choose to replace full length guide rods in my 1911's with the standard one.
This same thing was happening to my STI Spartan. I ordered said main spring and have not had a problem since. Its the quickest and cheapest way to most probably fix it.
Go to Ed Browns web sight and order a new main spring / trigger spring. In the mean time take your back strap off take out the main spring, the leaf to the left is your sear spring, bend it forward (towards the gun) just a bit and replace it. Your trigger might be a bit heavier but that should...
The P220 and P-228 are the best of the breed. The others are good with the 226 being superb. I'm not a fan of the 229. Any more I'll only by W. German in the P-series.
If you get a P-228 you wont be sorry.
First of all, there was no attempt at an apology.
Second of all, I gave a possible answer to the original question of "why so expensive". It was you who jumped down my throat. All I did was use some analogies and then state a very pliable reason for why the high cost.
However, I seemed to...
He said: If you think this is angry, think again. It's just exasperation and low regard -- a reaction you can expect when you display juvenile behavior.
Then I said: Sorry Officer.
Then he said: Still making insulting insinuations instead of discussing the topic I see. Keep it up; you're...
Ill give you that. I love revolvers and have several and have shot competitively with them with positive results. I also carry one, a lot. However, I shoot some of my Glocks with little regard to cleanliness or lubrication and have never been let down. I did have one (my son's, who never...
My you anger easily for a cop, hope I am never in Kennebunkport or Saskatchewan or where ever your a constable at. And why do you ass/u/me that I or any other are civilians, could it be short cops syndrome. That would explain the need for a 1911 .45 I guess.
By the way, I was having a good...
