    AHSA

This thread seems to be going exactly the way that the other two have. My post explains exactly why someone who loves the Bill of Rights would see an alternative to the NRA. http://www.thehighroad.org/showpost.php?p=5266537&postcount=14 I will continue to monitor this thread to see if...

We are way off topic, but what I remember of George Wallace was his 1963 Inaugural speech - I just looked up the quote, and I did remember it correctly: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Wallace%27s_1963_Inaugural_Address I understand that he modified his views later in his life. Mike

You posted 4 posts after the following post on the previous thread. http://www.thehighroad.org/showpost.php?p=5252407&postcount=157 I think that we can agree from the tone of the post that ohgrady is not a proponent of the AHSA, can we not? :) If someone hostile to the AHSA posts e-mail...

The reason that I supported Obama as opposed to John McCain are unrelated to the relative merits of their gun policies. I will give you a hint - I started the last election as a McCain supporter, and gave him enough money to get a couple of autographed pictures of he and Cindy. I gave no...

    AHSA

I have to tell you that sort of cracks me up, TexasRifleman. Wether or not the AHSA supported the AWB mattered mightily to you when you were claiming the AHSA supported the AHSA. Confronted by incontrovertible evidence that the AHSA does not support the AWB, all of the sudden it "Doesn't...

    AHSA

As one of - if not the only :) - AHSA agitator on THR, I would like to express a contrary position. How could someone who is pro-gun, a shooter and happy with Heller (though with reservations about what "reasonable regulations" means - looks to me like a hole big enough to drive a truck...

In Honor of Inauguration Day ...

I was going to take a Marlin 39AS to the range, but it got pretty snowy. I don't trust my fellow Tarheels on snow/ice. I am feeling extraordinarily happy and proud to see yet another peaceful transition between Presidents in the US. I am not sure that everyone who lives safely between these...

Why, God, Do I never have the money? Must see :)

And who's willing to buy ammo for it! :) I don't want to take the the time to figure out how many hours it would take for me to shoot up my annual salary. Given the rate of fire of and he cost of surplus ammo, what's a good figure on dollars/hour for those guys? Mike

Daniel Craig on the Daily Show

If Jon can't figure out to satirize the incoming administration, then he'll be off the air. Comedy Channel is not really going to keep market share with a show that fawns over the current administration - it's not Fox News. :) I in fact don't think that the Daily Show will survive the...

Daniel Craig on the Daily Show

It might also be good to keep in mind that he's an entertainer - he's paid to be funny. I would not assume that you can derive his politics from the on screen persona he's creating. I saw the show where he mocked Hillary Clinton, and his studio audience was upset. I think that the...

Careful when Carrying CCW: accidental discharge destroys toilet, man's ego

I keep hearing these stories where someone dropped a gun, and it went off. I sure would like to know if they are true. I feel very confident that I haven't ever owned a handgun that would go off if dropped from height of 3 or 4 feet. There was one last fall where a gun fell out of someone's...

Trying to Decide Between 9mm and .40

Shoot 'em both and see which you like better. I sot 45 ACP, 357 Magnum, 357 SIG, 9mm, 44 spec, and 45 LC. I ended up with one handgun in 9mm, and one in 45 LC. Both are fun and adequate for any SD situation I would meet. Mike

Opening a gun shop: Heaven or Hell?

Do you think that stores make money on the range, or does the range drive sales? I've always wondered, because the range seems very costly - increased liability, lots of maintenance, finicky equip - and staff who are competent RSO's. That seems pretty expensive to me. Mike

Opening a gun shop: Heaven or Hell?

From a customer's perspective, I can tell what I look for, and what I don't find in most local shops: I have one local shop that lets me order a gun for less than I can buy it from any of the Internet sites (when I add in shipping and FFL fees for the Internet sites). I don't know how they do...

    The Professional

When I saw it, I didn't see it as reflecting any interest in her part or his - just her desire to mess with his head. Remember, she is trying to manipulate him into killing the killers of her family (really her little brother). I thought it was mainly to make clear that her character was...
