Alternatives to AR-15 for Home Defense

Urban townhome dweller here. I prefer a handgun with a light for HD. It frees up a hand for manipulating lights and doors, moving family family members, and calling 911. I would also consider a PCC of some flavor for HD. Again everyone's situation is different and will come to a unique...

Any other runners: what do you carry?

I'm cycling more then running these days. For both I use Hill People Gear runner's kit bag. I've been able to fit different mid-size 9mm pistols in there (I usually carry a P365XL) but you could also carry something smaller to save weight. I prefer this method over some type of holster on my hip...

I have a Henry rifle that finally came in to the shop. Going in tomorrow to do paperwork. Shop says that background checks are taking 2-3 days :what:

    K98 Mauser: Current Pricing?

If you're seeing decent K98s for $450-$500 I would scoup one up. Prices have been getting nuts on those rifles recently.

Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

Henry single shot 308. It was at a price that I couldn't pass up.

    Most fun with clothes on?

I voted Henry 22. Love my Golden Boy. My SA22 is also fun. I'm surprised that a CMMG conversion kit was not an option.

    H&K P7 prices

I had two PSPs, great guns I bought off a guy for $400 a piece. Used to use one as a carry piece when living outside of DC. Sold them to help pay for our wedding. I kick myself to this day.

How many here didn't start shooting until they were an adult?

Got into shooting on my own in my 20s due to my love of military history. First gun was a Mosin but it was still fun. Now I'm almost 40 and shooting is still mostly "my thing". My wife will come to the range when I bring the 22s and lever actions. I also have a few friends that will come pop...

    Best non-semi automatic defense rifle

If semi-auto is off the table a decent pump 12ga with the right defensive load can stop a target fast. I do also have a 357 lever action I love and various wheelguns. I did just miss a GP100 Wiley Clapp on a local forum

CZ makes great rimfires, I also like the offerings from Savage, and Henry rifles are a blast.

    22LR Pistol Suggestion...

Lots of good choices out there. I went with the S&W Victory. It shoots well, I like the fiber optic sights, and take-down is easy.

Beretta 3032 vs Kel Tec P32

I went with the Kel-Tec for pocket carry. For such a small DAO pistol it shoots well.

    Remington 1911s GTG ?

Remington is running a rebate on their 1911 R1 Enhanced in 9mm at $484 from GrabAGun and it's caught my eye. I like the look, finish, and fiber optic sights. Does anyone have recent experience with Remington 1911s?

Which gun brings you the most satisfaction?

After selling my S&W K-22 I was missing a .22lr revolver so I picked up a Heritage with the front and rear fiber optic sights. For under $200 that thing is a bunch of fun and the sights are easy to pick up.

Is anyone familiar with these pistols?

For an MSRP of $500 I feel like you can get a better deal from a more well established company with better warranty and aftermarket support.
