I have a S&W 1911 9mm PC and have'nt had any feeding problems. Can't remember which brand magazines came with it but I have magazines from Wilson,Tripp,Metalform and they all worked flawlessly.
Send the it back to S&W and let them fix it.
I've a PP police trade in,feeds hollow points no problem.
Bought it in the eary/mid 80s paid $ 200 for it and I'm still kicking myself for not buying 2,came in factory box, manual, holster and 2 magazines.
I lusted for a AUG for a long time and was at a gun show and got to handle one was surprised at how heavy it was. It could be made to eject on rhe left as well. Had a chance to fire a Tavor and found it to be very but heavy. Guess I'll stick to left handed bolt guns.
I've had a No 1 in 45/70 and with heavy loads it's a bruiser, oddly enough had a chance to fire a No 1 in 375 H&H with the weight difference the 375 was on the same level as my heavy 45/70 loads. Anyeay a 458 is just what you need for any pachyderms prancing in tou bed of petunias.
Tried that with nail polish still tough for me to see. I've green fiber optic sights on my 2 Rugers a GP100 and a Super Redhawk and find them much easier to see.
The front sight is pinned so it shouldn't be that tough to replace.
I'm going with the snith on this one. Wish S&W used the Ruger or Dan Wesson method to hold the front sight in place.
I've a Ruger Super Blackhawk stainless 4 5/8" barrel very comfortable to carry . Had the grip frame, trigger and hammer swapped out with Bisley parts and had the barrel ported.
Shoot mostly 44 spl out of it really don't need full house 44 loads not expecting to tun into large 4 legged creatures...
Gentlemen
Has anyone here replaced the parridge front sight with a fiber optic sight ?
The Patridge sight is getting tough to see, going to have a smith do the work. Going to use a HiViz front sight.
Souping up the 45 acp can be done but that means minor to major parts replacement. The increased pressure of the hotter loads means more recoil, wear and tear on the pistol.
I have an SR1911 in 10 mm I like the pistol very much but I made 1 change to it,I put a flat bottom firing pin stop to slow down the slide and keep my brass in the same zip code.
I also bought a 40 S&W barrel for the pistol as well.
I've one of their mini actions and other than the plastic trigger guard/magazine nice little rifle. There are a couple of companies that make steel replacement trigger guard/mag wells,I replaced mine with one from Robertson that use CZ 527 mags.
Buddy of mine had the 380 version trigger pull nothing short of a tranquilized gorilla could manage,he had to deburr the pistol after the slide open a nasty cut on his thumb joint.
I've 3 22 conversion kits 1 for my 1911 from Advantage Arms,Beretta 92 conversion and one for my CZ 75 all have worked flawlessly wit just about every type of 22 anmo I have even some Russian stuff I bought back in the 80s 6000 rds at 2 cents around.
Ages ago I had a chance to fire a No.1 in 375 H&H and as I recall the rifle was heavy 8 maybe 9 lbs don't remember if it had the red recoil pad, fired it standing up recoil was stiff but tolerable. Heavy loads loads in my No.1 in 45/70 were worse but that rifle was a good lb less. I did note to...
I've read the responses and can't comment on what firearm to use but I can attest to this the muzzle blast and concussion of a 223 fired indoors is something you'll want to experience only once. I go to an indoor range that allows rifles up to 50 BMG and been around with someone firing an AR and...
