RAMI (or other small 9) or j-frame?

I've been thinking the same as the OP and I'm leaning towards getting both to try out. I most likely will carry IWB, as that is what is closest to how I've practiced with drawing a gun. I'm not sure how fast I'd be drawing a J-frame from a pocket holster out of a pocket. -Albert

    Layaway at Gun Shops

I've purchased a few on layaway in a couple of gun shops. The one that has the most flexible plan is also a pawn shop and they only require 20% down and 5 monthly payments to pay it off. Usually I can't wait the 5 months and pick it up on the 3rd payment cycle, but I like the ability to...

    What Glock do you own?

My first pistol/firearm was a 3rd generation Glock 19 as had decided the 19 was a perfect blend of capacity and concealability. Soon after I picked up a 34 for IDPA and USPSA practical shooting competition. Then came a 36 as a novelty and finally a 26. Eventually I traded away the 34 for...

What is the last gun that you bought?

Springfield XDm from a friend who only had it for 2 months

.40 S&W (Best gun for the money?)

I really like my CZ 75B Single Action .40S&W, but for all around I don't think you'll find too much better than the Springfield XDm. -Albertb

    CZ 75B Hammer Cam

It's tough to leave it alone when you've tried one that has been tuned. I've changed the hammer spring and the recoil spring in my latest SP-01, a tactical and I'm about ready to mess with it a little to get it close to my other tuned SP-01s. -Albert

What will your next handgun be?

Another CZ of course! Most likely a CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow "tuned" by Angus Hobdell and his crew at czcustom.com -Albert

    The CZ Club

I'm in! Here's one of the little guys of my CZ family... I've found you can't buy just one (at least I can't). Also, once you start obtaining CZs it's hard to stop procuring more. -Albert

    Seattle Area Gun Dealers

Ten Ring Enterprises/Jason Hayes is still around I'm confident he still is in business as I've done a few transfers with him this year. Is it possible you have an old email address? This is the one I use and he responds to... [email protected] I also found out he does...

    Seattle Area Gun Dealers

Any update with your experience at Capitol Loans. I'll give a +1 to Jason Hayes of Ten Ring Enterprises. I've done a lot of transfers with him. I confident his current transfer price is $25. -Albert

    S&W 1911 vs Dan Wesson PM-7

Another recommendation for the Dan Wesson PM-7. I have one in 10mm and will eventually get one in .45ACP as well as 9mm. -Albert

    SP-01 advice?

As was mentioned, if you aren't interested let us know where/give us a phone # where we can grab it up. $395 for an Sp-01 is a good deal. If it is a little used, then that means it should be broken in. -Albert

Convince me not to get an SP-01 in .40.

I have an SP-01 (9mm) and I also have a CZ 75B SA in .40S&W as well as a Tactical Sport in .40S&W. The .40S&W moving over 1000 fps in a CZ with a longer dustcover does feel much better, not as much snap as the extra weigh in the front end of the pistol helps keep it down. -Albert

    IDPA...Getting Started

I say go for the CZ compact or the CZ PCR. For a combination of carrying and enjoying the practical pistol game of IDPA. It's true what others have mentioned, many go towards larger "gaming" type pistols. I started with a Glock 19 then went to a 34 because I knew it was a game being...

    Pistol vs. revolver

I'm no expert, but I usually like to go by the K.I.S.S. principle. Although I enjoy shooting autos I would think the revolver has fewer moving/reciprocating parts and would stand to be more reliable than an auto. That being said, I carry an auto, but would like to someday carry a revolver...

    i don't compete in 3gun competition because...

Would take all weekend or close to all weekend I can't find any near me. Most matches are at least 3-4 hours drive and might require an overnight stay before and/or after. I'd like to try it out a few times though, just afraid I might get hooked. -Albert
