    Victory! Sugarmann/VPC FFL not renewed

Cronarch: I returned to enlist help of this site's membership with the Sugarmann FFL business. I posted similar messages on other gun boards. Now that it is concluded, I'm done. In retrospect, perhaps I should not have posted here at all. I respectfully request that you either return me...

    Victory! Sugarmann/VPC FFL not renewed

FFLs are not required to surrender their 4473s. They can turn them over, or agree to hold them for the requisite statutory period (20 years?). If I have time tomorrow to research the topic, I'll write on why surrendered 4473s are not subject to public inspection. Also, I think this is...

    Victory! Sugarmann/VPC FFL not renewed

I *think* the FOIA was worded so as to request audit results (records subject to public inspection that contain no identifying information), and not the form 4473s, which are not kept by the BATF unless the FFL surrenders them when going out of business.

    Victory! Sugarmann/VPC FFL not renewed

You should call him back. Tell him that you'd still be interested in executing the transfer but you need a copy of his BATF Letter of Continuing Authorization.

    Victory! Sugarmann/VPC FFL not renewed

My thanks to everyone who took the time to contact IRS/BATF/lawmakers regarding Sugarmann's fraudulent FFL. EZ FFL check is now listing his license as expired. In a month or so I'll pull BATF's master FFL list to confirm that he hasn't simply acquired a new number, but in the meantime...

Pre-ban AR uppers in Post-ban states?

I suggest you do it right the first time. Shop around for a preban lower (can't be a Colt), and build it with whatever evil features you want. There are plenty of preban PWAs, Bushmasters, and Eagles floating around for $400-800 each. Unlike most guns, a documented prebran receiver will...

Moving from CO (hassle-free zone) to NC-seeking details/advice on rules

Read up on NC's "weapons of mass death and destruction" laws. The Taurus Judge is regulated like an atom bomb.

Unbelievable VPC hypocrisy--Help ensure VPC's shambolic FFL renewal is DENIED

the two arguments are not mutually exclusive.

Unbelievable VPC hypocrisy--Help ensure VPC's shambolic FFL renewal is DENIED

The letter goes out to all who signed the Heller amicus brief. A complete list can be found here: http://media.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/nation/documents/congressmen_amicus_brief_0208.html I've already hit: Senator A. Lamar Alexander (TN, R) Senator A. Wayne Allard (CO, R) Senator John A...

Unbelievable VPC hypocrisy--Help ensure VPC's shambolic FFL renewal is DENIED

Mailing these congressmen using their web based submission forms is proving to be an incredibly tedious task. I really could use some help--even if it's only for 10 legislators. Any volunteers?

Unbelievable VPC hypocrisy--Help ensure VPC's shambolic FFL renewal is DENIED

I trimmed it some, but I think it's now in final form. Due to the time sensitivity, I will be emailing them out today and tomorrow. Would anyone be willing to suggest a short list of congressmen (10-15) that I should also express mail?

I agree, the phrase in question has been changed.

Unbelievable VPC hypocrisy--Help ensure VPC's shambolic FFL renewal is DENIED

I appreciate the proof-reads. Tomorrow I plan to insert another couple of paragraphs regarding the impossibility of opening/operating an actual gun store in DC, and contrasting that to the latitude afforded to Sugarmann. I may even work in the "corrupt official" brief filed in Heller...

Letter to congresscritters--re: VPC FFL--seeking comment, time sensitive

Mods: if inappropriate, please delete this thread. I'm trying to get as much comment as possible before mail date of tomorrow morning. Letter can be found here: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=338977&page=4

Unbelievable VPC hypocrisy--Help ensure VPC's shambolic FFL renewal is DENIED

The gloves are now off. If our direct appeals to BATFE and the IRS go unheard, perhaps our congressmen and women can help. With the blessing of THR's administrators, I intend to send the following letter to each congressional signatory of the Heller amicus brief--all 300+ of them--on behalf of...

Unbelievable VPC hypocrisy--Help ensure VPC's shambolic FFL renewal is DENIED

I encourage everyone that has 10 minutes and a stamp to print out this form, fill it out, and mail it in. Tick the box for false exemption and failure to pay tax. In the comments section, explain that Sugarmann is the director of the VPC (a charitable tax-exempt organization) and that he has...

Unbelievable VPC hypocrisy--Help ensure VPC's shambolic FFL renewal is DENIED

It's unlikely to result in the revocation of VPC's 501(c)(3) status, but it will be very difficult for Sugarmann to tell the IRS that his firearms business is generating insignificant unrelated business income, while simultaneously telling BATF that his operation isn't a sham. If we're...
