    5.56 in a Mini 14?

GRIZ22 was referring to what Nicky Santoro said about the Target model only being chambered in .223 and not 5.56 per the manual. GRIZ22 was pointing out that he believes the manual refers to the Target model only being available in .223/5.56 and not 6.8.

Veridian XL5 vs Surefire X400 vs Streamlight TLR-2

Wow you get a hell of a discount on the Surefire compared to the Streamlight. Usually I would say go for the Streamlight because it almost always has the better price, but this time I'd say go with the Surefire.

    Storing AR mags loaded

You can actually fit 31 rounds in a 30 rd PMAG, although that isn't the purpose of the extra space. When you put the cover on, it pushes the loaded rounds deeper in the magazine away from the feed lips to take the pressure off of them and keep them from deforming/cracking. You an leave PMAGS...

    Let's talk buckshot...

The only stuff listed on ATG's website is the low recoil 1145 fps stuff. They do make a standard recoil tactical load @ 1325 fps though. The low recoil stuff is LE132-00, the standard recoil stuff is LE127-00. You may have gotten some LE127-00 instead. It should be somewhere on the box.

    Let's talk buckshot...

Fed Tactical is copper plated and buffered as well. Win Ranger is only buffered.

Ammunition To Go has it for $22/25rds

    Let's talk buckshot...

For the most part I agree that adding "Tactical" to the name of shotgun shells just means lower recoil and higher price. The exception being Federal Tactical. For one thing, its usually cheaper than Vital-Shok/Power-Shok stuff. Also, they use their flight control wad in there tactical...

    Mossberg 500 trigger assembly?

It could be brand new. The 590 and 500 trigger assemblies are identical except for the plastic/aluminum difference, 500 = plastic and 590 = metal. They are completely interchangeable.

Ye Olde "Sock Stuffed With Rice" method of dehydration

Find yourself a Petsmart (or similar type pet store) and see if you can find the Tidy Cats Crystals or ExquisiCat Pearls cat litter. Its just silica gel beads. They come in 14lb containers. Don't get the kind with the little blue crystals in it. There should be some that is only silica gel...

    Choate Combat Bolt Handle

Thank you, but unfortunately they only sell the model for the Remington 1100/11-87 (first 2 places I checked).

    Choate Combat Bolt Handle

Anybody know where else I can buy the 02-10-02 | Mossberg 930 Combat Bolt Handle other than directly from Choate? Its only an $11 part but they're charging almost $9 for shipping and I just can't justify that unless I have to.

It could take quite a while before the status updates if you just sent your application in. Took mine 3 weeks to update the status.

Any good alternatives to Sparks VM2 holster?

http://www.ttgunleather.com/ makes some decent holsters. Wait time is 10 weeks though. I purchased a TT gunleather model, but a week before I received it I got the email notification from Top Gun, so I sold the TT holsters.

Cabela's & Bass Pro not buying??

Saw an old Remington 11-48 there, the receiver was so rusted there wasn't any blue left, just orange. They wanted $450 for it. I thought that was pretty ridiculous. Have to say though, they don't seen any semi-auto rifles there, and no semi-auto shotguns that aren't equipped for hunting, but...

    Federal Hydrashok .45ACP LE Only?

The advantage is that instead of hoping the soft lead will deform enough on impact to expand reliably, the pre-sectioned bullet expands easier. Like tearing pre perforated paper vs a folded piece of paper. Edit: See what I mean? The Hydra Shok looks like it was just mooshed into that...

    Rails Lubrication

I use the red Mobile 1 Synthetic grease as well. Never had any problems with it, and its still there after 250 rounds.

    Federal Hydrashok .45ACP LE Only?

I wouldn't even bother with Hydra Shok anyway. Old design hollow points like the Hydra Shok rely on the hollow point to try initiate enough deformation of the lead core and jacket for the bullet to expand. The new Federal HST bullet is "pre-sectioned", the separation lines on the jacket go...
