Must be getting old since I am thinking of reducing my small collection of handguns

Though I have never looked into it, I think a good way to sell off some of my collection would be to rent a table at a local gun show (when one comes to town). However to date, most of my collection reduction has been to finance the purchase of more interesting, expensive or collectable guns...

POLL: Which .357s Do You Own??

Poll should have been multiple choice... Colt Python (x1) Dan Wesson (x4) Freedom Arms (x2) Manurhin (x2)

Which Brand of Revolvers do you own the most of?

    Dan Wesson Freedom Arms

    Colt Python

What I found out is the near flawless examples with box, papers, etc. are difficult to find. When you do find one, be prepared to spend a lot of $. Shooter grade versions are much easier to come by. If you plan to shoot them, save yourself a lot of money and buy the shooter grade Pythons...

Dan Wesson model 15 - convertible to other calibers?

Each Dan Wesson frame is threaded to only accept the barrels that are the proper caliber for it. In other words, each frame and matching barrels have their own thread pitch. The barrel from a model 15 will only fit a model 15, the barrel from a model 22 (.22LR), model 32 (.32H&R), etc will not...

    What revolvers are good?

Dan Wesson has announced their intent to get back into revolver manufacturing. They are displaying a new version of the. 357 magnum (model 15/715) on their web site, but so far nothing has materilized. The MSRP is too high IMHO. Www.cz-usa.com/products/view/dw715/

    4" PPC revolver

You have to be a real persuasive talker to get Collectors to lower their price that much. Typically they wont drop the price of a used gun more than 10 percent. Collectors tends to over price their firearms. -WD

Would it be correct to guess that Dan Wesson came a little too late with his PPC and Action Cup models?

Do you own more singles or doubles?

I have a slight preference for single action. This is mostly because I have gravitated towards the higher end (Freedom Arms, with an STI Texican on my wish list) However I doubt I'll ever carry a single action for a personal defense / CCW. Typically I shoot my double action revolvers in...

Why no high end double action revolvers?

I never assume a particular model of firearm when a brand is discussed. And I don't think the F1 is "funny looking" as I like the way they look. :neener:

Why no high end double action revolvers?

No mention of the MR-73 - until now.... The F1s were manufactured in France by Manurhin and differ from Ruger in many ways.

Why no high end double action revolvers?

I'm not sure where the .020 end-shake comes from. My two Manurhins pictured below, have .005 and .006 - and they were both well used before I bought them. Though the crazyness has subsided for a while, this time last year some of the Dan Wesson SuperMag revolvers were fetching over $3000 on...

Best 357 revolver for a steady diet of full house loads?

A Dan Wesson model 15/715 should be up to the task. If not then a Dan Wesson model 40/740 .357 SuperMag. If still not strong enough, then a Freedom Arms model 83, chambered for. 357. Edit: here you go... http://www.sixguns.com/range/fa353.htm

    New Manhurin ???

Lone Star, Yes, the crane lock is the same as the GP100. I do not know what the time frame is with manufacturing the F1 in relation to the Six-series and the GP100. I do know the grips of that Speed-Six pictured above are interchangeable with the F1.

    New Manhurin ???

JellyJar, Do you know is this applies to new revolvers only? I have a pair of Manurhin Special Police F1 revolvers with 3" barrels. They were imported and sold through CAI.
