I have a Century R1A1, and it's one of my favorites. It came with with 6 mags, and for some reason it doesn't work at all with one mag, but the other 5 will feed all day long.
Oh yeah, I bought it off the used rack for $225 in '05.
You might check your Dept of Natural Resources Hunting Guide. Mine (Indiana) specifically states:
It is illegal to shoot across a body of water, except in the lawful pursuit of wildlife.
Good luck.
Everyplace in my state requires you to give your SSN to get a hunting or fishing license. If your number is in the system as being late on your child support, guess what? You ain't going hunting this weekend!
I swung an axe at it a couple times but I didn't want to chip up my garage floor. Plus, I had trouble hitting it directly in the place I wanted to.
I have a good variety of chisels, but the biggest hammer I have is a 24 oz ball peen. (guess I've always been more of a finesse guy)
BTW...
I have two slabs of lead, approx. 18x12x2 inches. Any idea on the best way to cut them into usable chunks? (Preferrably not more than 4" on a side)
I tried a Sawzall but gave up when it took 10 minutes to get about 3" into the first cut (using coarse tooth blade).
Lay it out on a train...
Haven't received them yet, but I'll be sure to take pics and update this thread when I get them. I have a few more on the way, and I expect to pick up quite a few from some old friends of mine this weekend.
Edit: It seems I spoke too soon. Your package got here yesterday, I just forgot to...
My brother in law took the brass, had it polished, and had grandpa's name and date of birth - date of death engraved on them, then had them clear coated and distributed to the family. They look nice pretty much anywhere they're displayed. Before this it was in my wife's glass curio cabinet...
I've been hitting up the shooters at my Conservation Club. The trustee who comes around to check IDs said he had few oddball rounds he'd throw in his truck and give me next time I'm around. Said he had a couple pinfire rounds he'd give up. :)
I'd be fine with the appearance of a live round...
(We don't really have an "ammo" section, so I thought reloading might be the closest thing...)
Ok, so I started casually collecting single rounds of different calibers for a shadow box/display case. Knowing that it was something I'd love, my wife had a display case built for me by a friend of...
There you go, baggin' on the CIA FALs, but mine hasn't had a FTF or FTE in around 800 rounds.
Ok, so the first few rounds had some problems until I realized the previous owner left the gas system wide open. After that though...
In all seriousness though, hope DSA makes everything right...
