Do you have to use that gun to qualify? If not you would be better off going to Academy if there is one near you and picking up 2 24/7 Pro 45's for 350 each and then you could turn around and sell them both for about 350 each ;) or buy one 24/7 and an extra mag for 40 bucks and call it a day

If you plan on putting a lot of rounds through it and want to do so 40 years from now go with the PT92, it is built like a tank and will last forever through thousands and thousands of rounds, plus it looks better IMO

See if you can get your hands on one of the new Taurus 24/7c in 9mm, it comes with a 13 round flush mag with the small pinky grip for CC and it also comes with a 17 round mag with a sleeve for range use 17 round 13 round or the PT111 which comes with 2 12 round mags

IMO you can not go wrong with the 24/7

Yes the 24/7 is able to be carried cocked and locked like a 1911 and the safety moves up for safe and down to fire like the 1911. You can also carry it with out the safety if you want and it would be like carrying a Glock

Well since my Taurus PT1911 already comes with most of that stuff all it needed IMO was some nice rubber grips so thats all I put on mine

Have you looked into the Taurus 24/7 Pro 45? I carry one everyday and its been perfect for thousands of rounds of different HP. I think Beretta is making the PX4 Storm in 45 now which is high on my list of must haves but I want the 9mm version since I have a ton of 45's already

I read a lot more negative reviews on the mil spec then the PT1911. I have shot the SA and they seen lose cheap and do jam offen. My Pt1911 has been very reliable for well over 5000 rounds now. I bought my Dad a Pt1911 and his has been perfect for over 3000 rounds. You get more for your money...
