Get a decent M1A rather then the Garand. The 14 fixed a couple of weakness' that the Garand suffered from. Also you want the best in a carry weapon? Get a 1911 type .45. Still the one! Les Baer's are supperb. But even the Springfield .45 are decent. For the M1A try Fulton Armory.
