In complete opposition to apparently being "Perfection" and in light of Gaston Glock being utterly unwilling to take recommendations from industry experts and actual shooters to improving his pistol- we're all stuck with Glock knuckle until the end of time. Unless you're willing to void your...
I remember handling a few Detonics CombatMasters in the 80s/90s, but to be honest they were considered second tier 1911s by the old school IPSC guys I hung around with in the 90s. I can't imagine a gun like that is worth $1500....
A review of "The Glock in Competition," Dillon's Blue Press.
"As far as I’m concerned, the chapter on Glock blowups alone is worth the price of the book. Blowups, also known as Kabooms, KB malfunctions, etc., are analyzed in a methodical, easy-to-comprehend way. The short answer is: Don’t...
Someone has already mentioned titanium firing pins and extra power springs- that's all I use for what it's worth.
I believe I read you can drop a titanium firing pin/extra power spring equipped 1911 from 60" on the muzzle without it going off.
I completely agree with an instructor being able to demo the teaching points in front of the class- no exceptions. Students will immediately call you out if you can't do what you're trying to teach them to do.
I agree with the posts above- send the gun back to Glock. Their service is excellent- and I am not even a "Glock guy!" I do have a lot of time on Glocks, and I've sent a couple in - they will take care of you.
LWRC REPR 16" fluted barrel, 2 position gas block. Not mine, but used it extensively. Side charging handle a HUGE improvement over T handle, especially with suppressor (gas doesn't hit you in face). Geissele non adjustable two stage trigger is solid. Gun ran fine with suppressor, did have...
What decent scope did you get for $249? I'm wondering if it is a Bushnell- I've been reading that their value line scopes shoot as well as some of the high dollar premium lines.
I agree with Cooldill and BigfatDave- I'm kind of surprised that there is still an argument going on over magazines being left loaded or unloaded....
Pistol magazines/springs are wear items. If the mag springs get weak or the feed lips spread, is it that big of a deal to replace them? Do...
I've heard, never seen it, that a 1911 barrel will still print even with only the last inch or so of rifling still visible. This info came from an old school Bullseye shooter who had hundreds of thousands of rounds under his belt through many different guns.
Unfortunately, in my experience, a loose ejector is common in the different value line 1911s. At worst, you may experience erratic ejection. If I were you, I would grab a new ejector and fit it yourself- there are quite a few instructional sites on the internet that will show you how to do...
I put a few magazines through a buddy's Kriss Vector and did not like the way it handled compared to the AR platform (should temper that to say I have many years on the AR platform and am a true believer). From what I remember on the Kriss, the bolt would not lock back on an empty mag and the...
