Looking hard at the S&W M&P 10 and just wondering if there are better quality choices for the same money. They are running right at $1,400 now. This rifle seems like a good value. What do you think?

Freedom Arms replaceable forcing cone? Pics added
I was warned that the early FA revolvers with this factory option "might" be something to avoid, ceteris paribus. Can someone explain what the disadvantage "might" be? Dude who told me about it forgot what he had read, and added that this...
I am going tomorrow morning to look at this 586 to buy, and it has a scope. But its a no-dash, which means it was not factory drilled and tapped for a scope mount. I think the factory drilled and tapped started in the dash 3 or 4 models.
My question is, can anyone tell if the use of this...
do you worry about the small fleks you cant get out or blow out before adding the new powder? I cant seem to get all my Titegroup out of the Dillon 550 hopper before I add in some Trail Boss. Theres a crossbar piece at bottom of the hopper that is hiding small fleks. Im sure that in such small...
Will be carrying "open" (meaning not concealed) while riding my ATV on my property. Will probably use a belt to help with security (versus a clip on). I have no idea what to get but my 2 main concerns are:
1. holster giving best assurance the gun wont slide out while riding ATV
2. a holster...
Trying to get a feel for how common this is across the USA. I havent kept any of mine NIB, I end up shooting them. But I see so many non-dealer type posts in the classified selling NIB that I wonder how common it is and what is the rationale.
Here is a poll to help shed some light. The...
Those that have or used them:
Does it point well/balance well in the hand?
Is it more quiet than the 6" single six?
What about it do you prefer over the 6" or 6.5" (bisley)?
TIA
All I can say is I love this little guy. It looks great and feels even better in the hand. It has a small/short grip but in my hand it snugs very well into the middle of the palm. It is wide enough at the bottom to give a nice "bulb" to hold onto. It seems very well built. I dont know enough...
S&W 637 NIB, hammer block rattling noise?
I just picked it up from the FFL an hour ago. I love it already the few minutes we've had together. Its lovely. Now I am at work suffering the long wait 'till I can put it through its paces. You working folk know the pain :(
But as I checked it out...
I'm obviously a newb reloader, just getting setup. I got my Lymans #48 and Speer #13 reloading manuals and was surprised at how little data was supplied for my caliber, the good 'ole 44-40. I am beginning to read them from page 1 and maybe I'll find an answer. Maybe there is a formula or rule of...
Box says its made by Chicago Electric. I question it because Harbor Freight sells a lot of lower grade stuff. But Im game for it if it works/lasts like the name brands.
Also, do you use fine or course media in these things (corn cob stuff).
Thanks,
TP
Would this cause the accuracy of the revolver to suffer, or cause other problems?
I have read this happens when a manuf sometimes slaps a cylinder in a 44-40 from their 44 mag or 44 spec stock to save costs. I am trying to decide between 44-40 and 45LC Cimarron model 1873 and this would...
