AR guidance... Best bang for the buck..

Getcha a good armorers tool, I have a DPMS like the one Strat81 has in his link there toward the end (Product #885858) and it does everything I need it to (changes stocks, handguards etc..). Then get you some good punches. If you don't buy a completed upper then you'll need the action block...

    stock refinishing

I would think any type of thinner would remove that spray paint pretty easily... if not getcha a good steel, brass or bronze brush and put some elbow grease into it and you'll eventually get it out. Be careful, the harder the brush the more scratches you'll put in the wood.

    conceal in church

It's kinda like..... I agree with LT1Coupe, If you properly conceal you weapon accordingly, and no one can determine if you have a weapon, how is anyone to know that you have a weapon, UNLESS you go telling someone or are carrying something that's not suited for concealment. I choose to...

    What do you carry

KI.W. Best way to put it, is "I'd rather be looking at it, then for it." sort of mindset. If I ever need to use my carry piece or needed to defend myself in a life or death situation, I'd much rather have it than not. The reason why ordinary people carry is because most of us have jobs...

    Any Gunsmiths around?????

I have a question. I'm in the process of completely tearing down a Ruger P85 MKII to refinish it and give her a good cleaning. I have everything apart with the exception of the safety selector lever and the firing pin. For the life of me I can not figure out how to remove the selector and...

    Has anyone tried this combination?

That's some good info...... The Lake City brass I have headstamp shows it was manufactured in '05 and has the little NATO spec stamp on it. Bought it early this year in a bulk deal from Cableas as 500 rounds of remanufactured ammo and I'm just getting completed with my rifle, shooting what...

    Has anyone tried this combination?

Yeah Shoney, that's kinda what I was thinking. I know that the H4895 will burn a little faster than the 4350's and the 4320's and would start with the lowest charge the work my way up looking for blown primers, swelling or splitting. Birdbustr, I've shoot both Moly coated and Copper...

    Has anyone tried this combination?

Still working on that part. Hornady (7th Edition) has 35.1 - 43.3 grains Modern Reloading (2nd Edition) has 41.0 - 43.5 grains Hodgdon's site has 41.0 -43.5 grains I imagine I'll start with those load ranges there but stay short of the max loads. Just wondering if anyone has has any...

Large Rifle vs. Large Rifle Magnum Primers

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'll be sure to stop short of the larger grain amounts when I'm shooting to make sure everything is good and check my cases for any warning signs of over pressure or other issues.

Large Rifle vs. Large Rifle Magnum Primers

Here's the skinny, I went through and loaded several rounds for my 7mm Magnum and .22-250 to shoot a ladder test. I've had these loads completed for a month or so and was planning on shooting them next weekend, but today at work we were talking about reloading and I popped off the load info of...

Need some help with plugged barrel

SUCCESS!!! Finally after some thought I took an old bore brush attachment i had, cut one side off to make a "screw" then took a 12" long 3/16" drill bit ( I know some of you are cringing right now, but I didn't attach it to a drill, just hand screwed it in and then used pliers to go a little...

Need some help with plugged barrel

Got me a small problem, basically I may need to find a replacement barrel for a Winchester model 70, 7mm magnum. This may sound wierd to some, but my bore snake got stuck and then the end of it broke off so there's 24" of plugged barrel, problem is I can't push it from either end and it's...
