    XDm parts interchangeable?

Does anyone know if the upper half of a 3.8" XDm Compact will fit onto a 4.5" full size bottom half? Basically make a 3.8 standard out of the 2 parts? Thanks

    Anyone make 10mm frangible ammo?

I need like 200 rounds of frangible for an indoor shooting simulator with steel targets. Do any of the major companies make this stuff in 10mm? Google isn't giving me much to go on. Thanks!

Gunsite 1911 Commemorative Class - AAR

In March, Gunsite held a 1911 anniversary class. I heard about it at SHOT Show and by the time I called Gunsite the class was full. I guess the demand was overwhelming so I got a call a couple of weeks later saying they had added another session of this class in late September. Sign me up...

2010 Uniform Crime Report released, Violent Crime down again

Continuing a trend from the last few years, the UCR shows violent crime in the US decreasing. As we all know, you can't argue with any evidence that more guns in the hands of law abiding citizens has any impact here but you CAN argue that the anti's cries of blood flowing in the streets is...

    Turnaround time on 5320.20?

Anyone done a .20 lately (move NFA item across state lines)? What's the turn around been like? Thanks for any info.

Dillon neck expander sticking (45 ACP)

I've always used RCBS dies and presses but I recently picked up a 550 Dillon in 45 ACP. I notice that on the downstroke, pulling the case out of the neck expander is tough, really sticks. I can wipe the bell die off every few rounds and it's OK but after a few loads it starts to stick again...

Review: Ed Brown Special Forces - Added Gunsite Update

This is the saga of a boring 1911. Boring because it's just a 1911. No bells, whistles, uber this or that, just a plain looking 1911. Boring because it doesn't give me any drama, just goes "bang" every time, no matter what I've fed it so far. The story started back in January at the SHOT...

    M14 Cleaning Kit Oiler Info

Putting this in Rifles, if it's the wrong place one of the other mods can scold me and move to accessories, but since it comes with the rifle..... Found it in a box today unopened. Came with my Fulton M14 years ago and I never even looked at it. Now I'm curious. Anyone know how the heck...

    RCBS "Cowboy" Dies, what's different?

Someone gave me a set of .45-70 "Cowboy" dies yesterday since I mentioned I was going to start loading that caliber. I am wondering what is different about these from standard dies? I read they are more intended for use with lead bullets, but what exactly is different? I will probably not be...

USPSA Limited 10 safety question, help please.

All, I have not shot IPSC in over 10 years but I am going to give it a try again. I quit when the double stacks appeared and killed the single stacks. Now that there are divisions for all that stuff I pulled my old 1911 out of the box. In looking through the L10 rules I find this: I have...

    10mm IPSC bullet question

Howdy. I scored 16 pounds of Unique so I am going to use that powder. I have 10,000 Winchester large primers so I'm gonna use those, and Starline brass in quantity. So, I'm down to bullet type. In the past I have used a SWC 180gr but the bullet I was using is no longer available (it's been a...

    SHOT Day 3 - Sauer

Some have probably noticed that I have a weakness for rifles made of wood and steel, especially with a Mannlicher stock. So, eye candy from Sauer. This one in .30-06

    SHOT Day 3 - Colt

Lots to see at the Colt and Colt Defense booth, but not a lot new. This rifle did catch my eye, at the Colt Defense booth. The rep was demoing it for me and asked if I wanted to take a photo. I politely declined saying I didn't bother with things that wouldn't be sold to us "normal" people...

Busy afternoon at the Para booth. Travis Tomasie, current world and national IPSC champion, gave draw and reload demonstrations. Super fast and incredibly nice guy.

    SHOT Day 3 - Bushmaster

You know, there are only so many pictures of AR's one can take, so I didn't. Got to take a closer look at the ACR with enhanced stock. If I did want an ACR it would be with this stock. The folder locks up very solid.

    SHOT Day 3 - Stag

Stag has taken full advantage of "end of all things" marketing in this, their "Executive Survival Package". Fairly complete with first aid, spare ammo, batteries, flashlight and one MRE. I'm not sure why there is a cleaning kit, most of the customers for this won't be cleaning anything. When...
