    Which is a better 357 revolver: Python v SW 686 v Ruger GP100?

I love the 686+. The others are great also but for defense, another round won't hurt. 3" 686+ is one hell of a woods, SD gun.

Paying off G20 opinions and info wanted.

I've bought *** firearms in the last 20 years. Rifles, handguns - they all had NICS forms. Used to be in Florida NICS was'nt required for CWP holders but it is now for all.

Paying off G20 opinions and info wanted.

It's the standard $5 NICS fee as far as I know. If you hav'nt purchased from a valid FFL you would'nt know about it. Nothing wrong buying a used firearm legally by way of non-FFL but that may be why you're not familiar with the form and $5 charge.

Torn between 44sp or 41mag for concealed carry...

44 special over 41 mag. Taurus has a small-medium .40 revolver. I had a CA .44 Pug and you're right, they're cheap feeling. I sold mine a month and 300 rds. or so after buying it. 41 mag has VERY few bullets or loaded ammo suitable for SD against humans. They'd make a fine hiking gun. S&W...

Any chance of a full-size, single stack, polymer handgun?

I was beat to the punch: Kahr TP 9, 40, 45. The 9 is 8+1, the others 7+1.

How many Glocks do you own?

Too many! I've owned over 20 since 1994, had about 14-15 at one time. I now have about 12but three are just waiting to be sold. I've got mostly .40's, three 10mm's, two .45's and the OG (Original Glock), the 17. Also have over 200 Glock mags, about 80 or so brand new 33 rd. mags and about...

If you could have only one .38 / 357...

I have the same gun. Had a beautiful Mernickle cross draw holster made for it. I did'nt realize they were so rare. I did find mine had a factory trigger job with one or two coils cut from the TS. I bought it new. Any idea how rare these are?

Are Glock 29 SF's Hard to Get?

Glock is staying with the 10mm. Love Glocks or hate em', both Glock 10mm's are must have's for anyone that shoots a lot of the caliber. Not many firearms you can say that about other than the .50 DE and the FN 5.7. Glock 30's are'nt out yet, the only other one just like it other than...

Glock pre ban high capacity magazines??

There is at least one pre ban not up there. The top looks like the 10 rd. post ban all the way on the left but is full capacity. I have two 23 mags like them. They are what I know as 3rd. gen prebans. 1st gen is not Fully Metal Lined, 2nd gen is FML like the pre ban all the way to the right...

Which is the safest autoloader when round loaded in chamber?

I guess if you have no finger control, any pistol with a safety that happens to be on when you pull the trigger inadvertantly. Otherwise treat every gun like it's loaded with safety off. Can't go wrong there.

Are Glock 29 SF's Hard to Get?

Hate to say it but I know of a store that has has multiple new production 29SF's on the shelf every day of the last sixty. And every day of the last year at least. Been shooting 10mm and G29's for well over a decade. It's a tank and you'll love it I'm sure. Call Shooters in Jacksonville Fl...

    .45 vs .44

Realize somebody already mentioned it: 10mm. Who would choose 10mm over 44 mag in grizzly country: me. I read something somewhere (Don't you love my refs?) that any caliber 200 gr. and up and 1,000 FPS+ is capable of penetrating a grizz skull. Which means a 200 gr. 45ACP +P @ 1,000 with a...

    Glock Mags...........Question Please.

Load it to eight and put nine on a napkin on the kitchen counter. With the mag upside down, push down on nine moving mag forwad. You can use thumb and index finger to hold nine in place. Why don't they make a 12 round mag for the 29 I don't know.

    smith and wesson M&P 45compact

I own the compact and the 4.5" full size. I get four pistols for the price of two. Compact frame with 4.5" slide, vise-versa and the way they came. They work flawlessly in any combination. Really like my 45 M&P's more than my compact and full size 40's. They are not interchangable either...

.45 Super load advice for trail gun

Sounds very reasonable in terms of weight and velocity from what I've heard and read about the Super. Only other thing to think about is a 20 upper for your 21 frame because of more readily available loaded ammo and reloading data. There is a room at GT dedicated to reloading 10mm.

I need the truth about Speer Gold Dot .45 acp 200 +p performance

The 200 +P is a great compromise, especially with a reliably explanding bonded bullet. I have two of the new ones that are way over an inch expanded (admit it means little as they were shot in naked water jugs). They held together and with a large .451 bullet, I feel Speer hit the nail right...

    Conceal Carry: Glock or J-frame

The Glock 26 makes a great IWB pistol (27 even better:neener:) but unless you're freakishly large, you can forget about pocket carry. The PM9 would make a great small carry pistol (PM40 even better:neener:). A flat base 6 rd. mag, 6 rd. mag with pinky extension and 7 rd. mag would broaden it's...

I need the truth about Speer Gold Dot .45 acp 200 +p performance

The first generation was six petal and it was OK. It penetrated very well and expanded marginally, though it was still a 45. New stuff is seven petal and my first choice in 45ACP SD ammunition. I've tested a ton of it, bought 1,500 rds. a year ago. It's good stuff.
