Texas: Action Needed - Employer Parking Lot Bill

I wonder if this thread should be in 'Activism'?

So . . . Are the People at Your Local Gunshop a Bunch of Jerks?

We have several, but the one I go to is great. West Texas Military Surplus in Lubbock. Randy is a cool guy, and his prices can't be beat. If he doesn't have it, he'll order it for you. I only had to put $100 down on an oddball so that he'd order it for me. He showed me the price HE paid for it...

From your LEO experience when pulled over

How about getting out and locking the car behind you? That way, if it's a safety issue, he would only need to Terry frisk the person. Car is locked, so no safety issue there. Does that hold any H2O?

From your LEO experience when pulled over

I hate to say it, but this line of thinking sucks. It's a liberty stifling line of thinking. I don't care what's scary to a cop. They CHOSE a career that is known to entail risk.

Brady Campaign: sees " Lunacy " " Extremists " who are buy up guns

What happens when the 'extremists' comprise a significant percentage of the population? Would they still be extremists? What's the cutoff? 20%? 40%? When does something become mainstream?:banghead::D

Wesley Clark and AWB on Geraldo

Thus the desire of politicians to limit what the peons may own and render them incapable of putting up any kind of serious resistance.

    7mm vs Car engine

A guy at work has used 7.62 ball (regular old AP) to punch through 3/8" steel plate. I'd think 7mm would work if you used FMJ bullets. He used an FAL for his 7.62X51 'tests'. Edit: Sorry - AP meaning anti-personnel. He wasn't using black-tip armor piercing bullets. Regular old FMJs.

    useful life of ammunition

That would explain the way my supper tasted the other night while out varmint hunting. Ammo - I've shot some 1950's vintage 7.62X54R with no issues.

Is anyone really dumb enough to fall for this

I'm almost ashamed to shop there now. :o I usually pick up surplus stuff like ammo cans, wool blankets, BDUs or other used military clothes (good hunting gear for cheap), maybe an e-tool, etc. The only ammo I ever bought was 7.62X39 because it was a good deal. I feel dirty after...

Ammunition shortage due to Mexican drug traffickers

So, I guess that means they are reloaders too? After all, primers and powder can be a little scarce at times. :D

Pelosi tosses cold water on assault-weapon ban

Nope, that's as it should be. Freedom's kinda risky, but it's better than the alternative. Creepy is trusting the government for your safety and to do the right thing. If you've got the money for that many Kalshnikovs, don't gift them to a charitable organization. Adopt me and let me...

Pelosi tosses cold water on assault-weapon ban

Doesn't get much clearer than that.

Pelosi tosses cold water on assault-weapon ban

I've never bought the argument that Obama and Congress have too much to worry about with the economy to be thinking about 2A issues. They have large staffs for a reason - to be able to deal with multiple issues.

    Where Are All the Primers

Check powdervalley. They usually have plenty. Order a bunch to offset the $20 hazmat, and you're good to go.

Pelosi tosses cold water on assault-weapon ban

I'm afraid I don't know that guy. I can buy a rifle. And in a few months, I can give it to my son. It is my property. In a few weeks. At the time I bought it, it was mine. Straw purchases are when you and 'whitey' walk into a gun store and you buy it knowing full well he can't own it. So...

Pelosi tosses cold water on assault-weapon ban

Not exactly. I can buy a rifle and give it to my son as a gift. Perfectly legal.

    Idiot in gun shop.

Freezebyte: I don't recall saying I'd whoop him or anything like that. Do you? I said I'd tell him to quit waving it around. Didn't even say I'd call him a dumb SOB. Just pointed out that he was one. Hardly an e-thug, wouldn't you say? Edit: You seem to have no problem doing...

    Idiot in gun shop.

I guess I haven't learned mine, because I'd have told the dumb SOB to quit waving it around. I don't care who he is, his age, or what hat he has on. It's entirely probable I will never learn my lesson on that, as my desire to avoid being shot by a knucklehead outweighs my ability to keep my...

New York Senator Moves Guns From Under Her Bed

    A) The 2nd Amendment says nothing about hunting. That overplayed line is about as bad as 'doing something for the children'. B) Why was this even a story? Slow news day? She's moving her guns. Yippee. I moved one the other day. From the safe to the cleaning setup in the garage and back to the...
