    Auto_loader with hammer Question

Storing it cocked has no adverse effect on the main spring, one could argue there's no reason to store one hammer-down either. Cycles are what wear out springs, not constant tension. FYI I don't currently own any 1911s, but I store my Hi-Powers cocked & locked, including one from World War II.

    Colorado Weapons Ban

Yes yes, autoloading, detachable magazine rifles. But even without a threaded muzzle, if the barrel is threaded on the action end, it could be construed as banned by this bill as-written.

    Colorado Weapons Ban

So the language in the bill actually bans all threaded barrels, not specifying muzzle. This could be construed to mean literally any barrel that has threading for fixation to an action, such as Mini-14 barrels and most other centerfire rifle barrels.

    Chicago Sues Glock

The criminals carrying these full auto modified pistols don't expect to live long enough on the streets to see their 40s, I doubt a possible state execution after 15-20 years of incarceration on death row will deter many.

Looking for more information on old Mercury Model M-34, single shot 10 gauge shotgun. Made in Spain.

Oh also, I found a serial number, it was hidden on an inside surface of one of the action arms, and on opposing inside surface of the other arm, I found these proof stamps:

I've had this collecting dust for several years, got it from a yard sale for $50 in as-is condition. Seller knew nothing about it, sat in their closet for decades. but as far as I can tell it is in functioning condition, the action locks up solidly and the firing pin pokes through the breech...

    Condition 1 or Condition 2

Get an ambi safety, they're about $85 from a few different suppliers https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/cs0034 https://bhspringsolutions.com/index.php/product/fn-browning-hi-power-ambidextrous-safety-lever/ My Girsan MC P35 came with ambi safety from the factory, works fine when...

    Colorado Weapons Ban

If I'm not mistaken, firearm and defensive use of force politics are a welcome topic of discussion here. The problem is when the political discussion wanders off that narrow subject and onto other major party positions which have little or nothing to do with the civilian ownership and usage of arms.

    Colorado Weapons Ban

Upon looking at the list, it rather conspicuously leaves out the Ruger Mini-14 Ranch series in traditional styled stock, as well as the Springfield M1A and other semiauto M14 pattern rifles IF you can get one without a threaded barrel and in traditional style stock. The weird part about this...

    60th Anniversary Ruger 10/22

Not sure, depends on what size the skinner post is. A much easier and free solution would be to just glue a small scrap sheet metal blank over the existing ghost ring and drill a smaller hole into it. : )

    60th Anniversary Ruger 10/22

No idea, but the post is a very unusual thread size. I'm guessing 10-40 or even -48. Only other screw that matched up in thread pitch was a much smaller diameter #3 standoff screw for some long forgotten PC case.I don't have pitch gauges small enough to verify, but the diameter is definitely #10...

Black Rain Ordinance BRO-22 Hunter vs Ruger 10/22

1/4 MOA, with high velocity ammo, at 100 yards? Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and call shenanigans

Mini14 fails to pick up round from magazine

Could be a problem with bolt geometry/finishing where it sometimes skips over the cartridge instead of picking it up upon return to battery. Could be the bolt is cycling too fast, maybe try some down-loaded rounds to see if the issue persists. If this helps, rifle might be overgassed.

    AR15 Barrel Length Study

Cliff notes: short barrels suck for muzzle velocity, gas operation reliability, and effective sound suppression with silencers

    Brownell's 10-22 receiver

Legit question, has anyone here actually experienced a cracked or broken aluminum 10/22 receiver? Beyond just stripped out threaded holes

Scope vs Red Dot vs Iron Sights - Expected Accuracy

Yep, 2 MOA is excellent for a service grade rifle with service grade ball ammunition regardless of sight type. Anyone who claims to shoot sub-MOA with regular ball ammo out of ANY rifle should be doubted.

    60th Anniversary Ruger 10/22

Range report: shoots great, has a good zero out of the box. No malfunctions using a variety of ammo. Not quite a tack driver due to the larger ghost ring aperture, but the rifle is still great at knocking down little 2" steel squares at 25 yards. Would like to have tested it at longer ranges...

    Brownell's 10-22 receiver

Yeah not sure if you can get to the product listing anymore from their home page. This is it: https://www.tacticalinc.com/catalog/product/id-5077
