    223 Load Development Question

I'll be working up a load for my AR. Beginning with the starting load and working up in .3 grain intervals. My question has to do with "warming up" the barrel with some commercial loads prior to documenting my handload results. Whats a good guideline for the number of shots I should fire...

    Lyman 90-MJT on AR-15 ?

Has anyone ever used a Lyman 90-MJT receiver sight on a 223 / 5.56 AR-15 ? I know its widely used for rimfire and just wondered if it would stand up to the highpower recoil. http://www.brownells.com/userdocs/products/p_539090000_1.jpg

    AR15 match rifle option

I’ve been shooting HP service rifle matches for a few years now. Currently I shoot a pre-ban Colt HBAR 5.56 A2 with a 1-7” twist and a nice crisp two stage Geissele trigger. I’ve found that the larger 75gr and 77gr bullets provide me the most consistency in my loads, particularly out to 600yds...

    NRA / CMP Highpower Question

Sitting down between shots helps me re-focus. After I break the shot: I sit with my rifle on my lap facing down range, look through my spotting scope, mark my shot, reload, peek at my timer, take a deep breath, stand

    NRA Smallbore Rules? Equipment?

"Never shoot against anyone other than yourself and the last score you shot. " Howard's statement is probably the most sound advice I've seen given in a long time. Bravo !!

Looking For N. Illinois & S. Wisconsin smallbore shooters

I’ve posted this on as many Rimfire / Smallbore forums as I could find, so forgive me if you see this everywhere. Just wondering if there’s any smallbore / rimfire shooters out there in N. Illinois or S. Wisconsin looking to get together for some “unofficial” matches. Nothing fancy. I got...

    Mossberg 535 for Goose

Pupchow Wokes great for turkey with the Remington load and the XFUL choke it came with, and my 14yr old son dropped 2 pheasants with it this morning using a FULL choke and Fiocci 2 3/4" #6s. But I don't think I'll try it for goose. I broke down and ordered the 28" barrel from Mossberg for...

    Mossberg 535 for Goose

Thanks Dave, I figured there'd be some issues with the swing / blast / & recoil. I just didn't want it to be a futile effort. I seem to do ok with the swing on the trap range, so we'll see how it goes. Thanks again.

    Mossberg 535 for Goose

Thanks jordan1948 Appreciate the input on the chokes. I'll check that out. For "recoil's" sake, I realize the 20" will be a bear ! I'm also wondering if anyone has any experience with a shorter barrel, and what kinds of results they had.
