    As-Issued SKS Value

I think I have had most every version of the SKS readily available except for the ultra rare versions. The Russians were by far the best but the Norincos were the better bargain. I first started buying them in the 1980s when they were less than a saw buck and ammo was around a $100 or less for a...

    As-Issued SKS Value

I bought a Norinco SKS a few months back from a Pawn Shop. It was the ONLY SKS in my town. I tried every other Pawn Shop/Gun store around and this one was IT. It was in excellent condition but did not have a cleaning rod or kit and no bayonet. I paid $600 out the door for it. It had a crappy 30...

    22WMR or no?

Right! I have never bought a gun because I needed it. Wanting it is enough reason for me.

    Ankle carry only?

I ankle carry at church and when I have banking to do. I carry a Ruger LC9 on my inside left ankle and find it very easy to draw from a seated position. I also wear a Taurus 709 slim in a pancake slide on my right hip either open or under a light jacket. I find each have pros and cons. As with...

What did you carry to church today?

I carry a Ruger LC9s loaded with hollow points in a soft ankle holster and a spare magazine in my left trouser pocket at church. I use this set up when I conceal carry but open carry a Taurus 709slim on an everyday basis.

How NOT to respond to road rage

The first sentence of the original post, ''The backstory that's been released is that this woman threw something from her car that the guy in the pickup says hit his truck''.

How NOT to respond to road rage

Seems to me that not throwing anything out of your car window, while driving, could have prevented this entire mess.

    Beaver hunting?

Same here in Alabama. We can trap or hunt them year around but can only sell any part of them if we have a fur catcher's license (not needed for private use) and then only during the fur bearer season which runs from November through February. At this moment we are in the middle of our trapping...

    Beaver hunting?

If the object is to just take them out, any gun will do the job. If you are planning on using or selling the fur then use only head shots with a small caliber rifle and no shotguns. I agree that trapping is the most effective tool to remove problem beavers. (I will be heading out in just a few...

I've used 22 mag on beaver and it works fine but I've found a 22 lr works equally well.

    Beaver hunting?

It's all in knowing how. It takes me about 10 minutes to skin a 30-40 pound beaver and about that long to flesh it. An expert can skin one in 3-5 minutes.

    Beaver hunting?

I trap beaver here in Alabama. I get so many calls from landowners to catch the beaver that are flooding hay fields and drowning valuable timber that I have to turn many down. Nobody likes them here. They are a nuisance animal here even though they have fur bearer status. We can trap them year...

    Coyote trapping near deer stand

Trap it or shoot it, the deer won't pay any attention to it. The deer are much more concerned about you than they are about any yote that may be in the area...alive or dead.

    Trapping for beginners

There are dozens of great youtube videos and trapper tv shows for the "how to". "Wolfernation", "Trapping Inc. tv", "Trapping Time" and F & T Fur Harvesters are all great shows but before hitting the woods and fields study your state's trapping regulations. After that is out of the way, join...
