Sig pulls a fast one again......

I would. Most of you seemed to have glossed over the fact that sig is using the aluminum reciever for the locking insert. Aluminum doesn't fare well at all when repeatedly impacted with hardened steel. Cutting corners like this is going to result in cracked recievers. There really isn't any...

Disney Employee Suspended For Bringing Gun To Work

This is a contractual issue, NOT a firearms issue. If he didn't like the conditions of his employment he coul have either 1) complied with them by parking off site or 2) found employment elsewhere. Freedom is not exclusive to firearms. It also includes the ability to run your business how...

Owner of broken rifle surrenders for 30-month sentence

Mr Olofson was a moron who got caught. This isn't the first time he's been busted for a firearms violation. In fact its one of several brushes with the justice system. He deserves exactly what he is getting. As far as the overall issue about the "just" nature of the law, thats pretty...

    Padilla convicted

Padilla was wronged here. No question about that. I would have much prefered they would have fast tracked his case and made a huge example out of him. However because the government violates your rights doesn't mean you are absolved of your crimes. Padilla didn't get a trial when he should...

    Padilla convicted

I'm surprised this hasn't been posted here yet. MIAMI, Florida (AP) -- Jose Padilla, once accused of plotting with al Qaeda to blow up a radioactive "dirty bomb," was sentenced Tuesday to 17 years and four months on terrorism conspiracy charges...

    surplus sig225 accuracy

As accurate an any new sig (or maybe more considering how the company has gone into the toilet as far as QC is concerned). I have 2 and love them. From all accounts, even the ones with lots of holster wear have pristine internals. Like most police guns they were carried regularly and never shot.

Seecamp 32 vs Kel-Tec 32 vs Beretta Tomcat

And the seecamp is considerably smaller than the keltec. Regardless of opinions, its safe to say that the keltec isn't "best" at anything.

    Question for 1911 gurus

So then how do I get friends like yours since everyone I talked to at colt has told me that they don't sell slides to the public. I thought of going that route but its a huge pain in the ass for both me and the other person, and I don't have any friends in AZ. At least none that don't turn...

    annoying glock fanboy

He obviously doesn't get out much. I can think of at least 3 major manufacturers who will beat out glock in that department.

Good article on the new HK 45....

But the question is whether your walther is 100% german made. Does it have the proof marks and stampings. My guess is it isn't. As for the rest of the HkATERS out there, heres some food for thought. I buy guns for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes its for collecting, sometimes its for...

    Question for 1911 gurus

Getting a non-fpb slide isn't the problem. I could call caspian tomorrow. The problem is with the roll marks. Colt doesn't sell slides to us peons. Who knows why. I've called several times all with the same result. As far as rollmarking a blank slide I wan't aware this could be done...

    Question for 1911 gurus

I know, but again the problem is that california does not allow them to be sold. The only colt made 1911's that I can purchase are the series 80 pistol. I can't get the WW1 or WWII repros or the series 70 repro. My only shot is to find someone that owns an older colt in the state that is...

Good article on the new HK 45....

Because 1) materials and 2) manufacturing. The HK is german made, panzer approved. Don't get me wrong, I like glocks, but they are essentially the tinker toys of the polymer gun world. That has both its advantages and disadvantages. Its easy to work on and replace parts, but it makes it...

Good article on the new HK 45....

Yes, but you also have to remember how large a grip has to be to have a magazine with 12 rounds. The original USP does, but lots of people complain about the grip. Same with glock and the XD. I think that most shooters would gladly trade 2 rounds for a very comfortable gun.

    Question for 1911 gurus

Thats because Old fuff doesn't live in california where we don't have the option to buy 1911 frames or series 70 colts. Hence my dilemma. Anyone know anywhere else that sells series 70 slides?

    Question for 1911 gurus

No they don't. At least not the series 70 blued ones. I just checked and they have discontinued them.

Good article on the new HK 45....

Its one thing if you don't like the pistol but lets try and be somewhat impartial here. But who pays retail for a gun? I know I don't. My USP tactical retails for easily over 1K but I picked it up new for $800. Assuming the numbers are true and not simply shooter error, you can also...

    Question for 1911 gurus

Yeah, but that wouldn't have the rollmarks on it which is 90% of the reason why I want the colt.
